摘要: Methods, apparatus, and computer-readable media are described for notching a 6 GHz channel. A station associates with an access point on a 6 GHz band. A notching pattern indication is decoded from data received from the AP after associating with the AP. A notching region within a channel within the 6 GHz band is determined based on the notching pattern indication. The notching pattern indicates a width of a notching region and a location of the notching region within the channel. The notching region covers bandwidth occupied by an incumbent system within the channel. A physical layer convergence procedure (PLCP) protocol data unit (PPDU) is encoded for transmission on the channel to the AP. The PPDU is encoded to exclude transmission within the notching region.

摘要: Disclosed are methods, devices, and computer readable storage mediums for encoding and decoding messages for fast link adaptation. In one aspect, a method of a high efficiency (HE) station (STA) (HE STA) includes encoding an aggregated control subfield of a high throughput (HT) Control field to signal one or more of: a request to use dual carrier modulation (DCM), a request to use a particular resource unit, an uplink (UL) power headroom indication, and an indication that the HE STA is using a minimum transmit power for a current modulation and coding scheme (MCS). The method also includes configuring the HE STA to transmit a HE-PPDU including the HT control field.

An apparatus of an access point (AP) or station (STA) comprising processing circuitry configured to decode a portion of a physical layer (PHY) protocol data unit (PPDU), the first portion of the PPDU including a physical universal signal field (U-SIG), the U-SIG comprising a version independent portion and a version dependent portion, the version independent portion including a version identifier field, the version identifier field indicating a standard version of the PPDU. The processing circuitry is further configured to refrain from decoding the version dependent portion when the standard version indicates a standard version of a later generation than a standard version of the AP or STA, and otherwise decode the version dependent portion in accordance with the standard version.

The master AP may allocate one or more spatial streams to each of the APs of the set of APs for a joint transmission of a null data packet (NDP) to the STA for channel sounding. The master AP may transmit an NDP announcement (NDPA) that indicates that the APs of the set of APs are to perform the joint transmission of the NDP.

摘要: Techniques for facilitating device-to-device (D2D) communications using a high efficiency distributed channel access scheme are generally described herein. In some examples, a communication zone allocated for wireless D2D communications is divided into resource contention and scheduled transmission portions. The resource contention segment may be used to transmit a request message from a transmitting device to a receiving device (a request-to-send message), and transmit a response to the request message from the receiving device to the transmitting device (a clear-to-send message). The response can indicate a time for the data transmission to occur during the scheduled transmission segment. During the scheduled transmission segment, the scheduled data transmission and other D2D data transmissions among the various devices will be performed. In further examples, contention access techniques may be used during the resource contention segment to manage access to the resource channel.
