The invention relates to an improved hairbrush of the type in which a plurality of bristles are implanted into each bristle implantation hole formed on an implantation surface. Each implantation hole is divided into a plurality of compartments, bristles are implanted in pairs such that one or two bristles are implanted into each compartment, the gap between the bristles of each pair implanted into the separate but adjacent compartments is kept within the range of 0.4 to 1.2 mm, and the boundary lines between adjacent compartments are aligned geometrically.

A bicycle rim is provided with an annular metallic rim member and reinforcing member. The annular metallic rim member has a plurality of spoke attachment areas with a spoke attachment opening in each of the spoke attachment areas. The reinforcing member extends circumferentially about the annular metallic rim member to overlie the spoke attachment areas of the annular metallic rim member. The reinforcing member has a plurality of spoke attachment sections overlying the spoke attachment areas, respectively, and a plurality of intermediate sections disposed between adjacent pairs of the spoke attachment sections, with the spoke attachment sections being thicker than the intermediate sections.
Abstract:
A bicycle pedal assembly has a cleat releasably coupled to a pedal by a cleat engagement mechanism formed on an upper surface of its pedal body. The pedal body has a front end configured and arranged to include a sole guide portion that assists the rider in rotating the pedal body about its pedal shaft. In one embodiment, the sole guide portion is formed by a first concaved sole receiving recess located in a tip surface of the pedal body and a second concaved sole receiving recess located on the upper surface of the pedal body adjacent to the tip surface. Alternatively, the concaved sole receiving recesses can be replaced with either a pair of laterally spaced projections located on at the front end of the pedal body, or a V-shaped tip surface.

A bicycle pedal includes a pedal body that rotates about a pedal shaft and a pair of clamping members coupled to opposite ends of the pedal body. Preferably, the both clamping members are preferably pivotally coupled to the pedal body. The bicycle pedal also has at least one pedal body cover. In the preferred embodiment, the pedal body cover has a protective body portion and a pair of attachment legs. The protective body portion is configured and dimensioned to overlie an area located along a center section of a pedal body of the bicycle pedal. The attachment legs extend from the protective body portion, and are configured and dimensioned relative to the protective body portion to be retained to the pedal body of the bicycle pedal by the pivot pin that pivotally couples the clamping members to the pedal body.

A magnetic device mounts on a flat spoke of a wheel. This magnetic device can comprise a magnet and a housing. The housing is coupled to the magnet, and has a spoke-receiving recess with a non-circular cross section, and at least one detent. The detent extends from the housing into the spoke-receiving recess to secure a flat spoke within the spoke-receiving recess via a snap-fit. The magnetic device communicates with a sensing device, which is adapted to be coupled to a portion of the bicycle that is adjacent to a wheel of the bicycle. A display unit, adapted to be mounted on handlebars of the bicycle, displays the speed information obtained from the sensing device. In a second embodiment, the housing is made of a more elastic material, and the detents become optional. In a third embodiment, the spoke-receiving recess of the housing has a projection that engages a concavity form in the connecting portion of the spoke. In a fourth embodiment, the spoke-receiving recess of the housing has a concavity that engages a projection form on the connecting portion of the spoke.

To provide a steering wheel which is lightweight, and which has adequate strength and shock resistance, a carbon fiber prepreg 13 is wound on a mandrel 11 or a lightweight foam core 40 so as to obtain a preformer 14. By heating this preformer 14 in a mold 18, a steering wheel is obtained wherein the rim is formed from a fiber-reinforced synthetic resin joined to a metal skeleton 23.

A magnetic assembly is provided for a bicycle monitoring device. The magnetic assembly includes a magnetic device that mounts on a special spoke of a wheel. This magnetic device has a housing with a magnet secured thereto. The housing has a spoke-receiving recess that receives the spoke. The housing can be secured to the spoke within the spoke-receiving recess via a snap-fit or an elastic fit. In one embodiment, the spoke-receiving recess of the housing has a projection that engages a concavity form in the connecting portion of the spoke. In another embodiment, the spoke-receiving recess of the housing has a concavity that engages a projection form on the connecting portion of the spoke. The magnetic device communicates with a sensing device, which is coupled to a portion of the bicycle that is adjacent to a wheel of the bicycle. A display unit that is mounted on handlebars of the bicycle displays the speed information obtained from the sensing device.

A reinforced booster for a bicycle brake is substantially U-shaped and attached to the pivot points of the bicycle brake to increase its braking power. The reinforced booster has a substantially U-shaped member with inner and outer peripheral edges which have high strength strands of fiber attached thereto for increasing the strength of the U-shaped member. The strands of fibers extend longitudinally along the peripheral edges of the U-shaped member. Preferably, the U-shaped member is constructed of a plurality of sheets of a non-metallic material. For example, a plurality of carbon sheets can be used to form the U-shaped member. The strands of fibers attached to the peripheral edges of the U-shaped member can be, for example, carbon fibers, polyamide fibers, glass fibers or other reinforced plastic fibers. The free ends of the booster has mounting holes which are preferably formed by strands of fibers.

A protrusion member is disposed on the tire guide component and faces laterally inward. A bicycling shoe having a shoe main body, a first tension-binding belt, a second tension-binding belt, a free ring, and a tensioning implement. The first tension-binding belt has at least one end connected to the shoe main body and has a first turnover portion. The second tension-binding belt has at least one end connected to the shoe main body and has a second turnover portion adjacent to the first turnover portion. The first and second turnover portions are inserted through the free ring such that the first and second belts link. Herein, since the belts having the turnover portions are linked by the free ring, fine adjustment can be made by means of the belts, responding to the shape of the foot of an individual wearer. Further, since a construction is made in which the first tension-binding belt is fixed to the shoe main body under tension by the tensioning implement, the shoes can be put on and taken off easily. When the tensioning implement is in the form of a folded-back belt that has "Velcro" on the opposing surfaces, and the first tension-binding belt further has a third turnover portion, and a second free ring is further provided through which the third turnover portion and the tensioning implement are inserted such that the first tension-binding belt and the tensioning implement link, the bound-tight condition of the shoe can be maintained even in severe movement.
