    摘要: A recording method suitable for high-density recording is provided. When information is recorded on an optical recording medium with irradiation of a write pulse of a laser beam, a length corresponding to 7 T is set to be equal to or less than the spot diameter λ/NA of the laser beam where T is one recording clock cycle, λ is a wavelength of the laser beam, and NA is a numerical aperture of the objective lens, and a specified mark with a length corresponding to 3 T or more is recorded by a single write pulse.

To record information on an optical recording medium using a laser beam, the method includes: recording a specific pattern of multiple record marks on the trial writing region of the optical recording medium; decoding a read signal from the specific pattern using a PRML detection method; and tuning a write pulse waveform for forming the record marks based on the quality of decoded data determined by the PRML detection method.

    摘要: When the recording capacity of an optical recording medium is increased, both reproduction characteristics and a tilt margin are improved. Specifically, when a laser beam is projected onto an information recording layer of the optical recording medium to reproduce information, a laser beam having a wavelength of 400 to 410 nm is employed. In addition, an objective lens which converges the laser beam and has a numerical aperture NA of 0.70 to 0.90 is employed. The reproduction is started by projecting the laser beam. A reproduction signal obtained by projecting the laser beam is decoded by means of a PRML detection method to generate reproduction data of the optical recording medium. When the quality of the reproduction data deteriorates, the power of the laser beam is temporarily increased.
