摘要： A furnace to be heated to a high temperature which employs heating elements made from carbon or graphite. A longitudinal space within the furnace for accommodating said heating elements and a furnace bed for the transportation of articles to be treated through the furnace, is formed solely by blocks of porous carbon and without the emplyment of a conventionally prerequisite protective case. A pair of the heating elements extend along inner lateral walls of said space, facing to each other with the furnace bed therebetween, and have their electric terminals projecting through and outside of a bottom wall of the furnace.

摘要： A laser plate-making apparatus includes a moistureproof paper feed magazine for feeding plate materials one by one, each having a photosensitive layer, a charger for charging the plate material with an electric charge, an exposing unit for exposing the plate material charged with the electric charge, using a laser beam modulated in accordance with a plate-making image to partially neutralize the electric charge and form an electrostatic latent image, a developing unit for developing the electrostatic latent image by applying a developing solution to the plate material, the developing unit being located at the lowest position in a convey path, and including an arcuated pair of electrodes through which the plate material passes and to which a predetermined voltage is applied, a developing solution concentration sensor having detachable special cells and using a light-emitting diode, and a squeezing roller pair for squeezing out an excess developing solution from the developed plate material, the developing solution being sprayed on a surface of the squeezing roller to prevent the surface thereof from being dried, a fixing unit for drying the developed plate material with hot air, and fixing the developed plate-making image.

摘要： An apparatus for detecting a focused condition of an optical system, in which a light-receiving means arranged at a fixed position corresponding to a focus position photometrically detects a focused condition. A light beam having a definite shape is projected onto an object to be imaged by a light projection means. The reflected light beam is conducted along an optical axis of the optical system, deflected, and detected by the light receiving means for determining whether a focused condition exists. Several embodiments are disclosed for projecting a light spot of high contrast of the object and for detecting a focused condition on the basis of the intensity distribution of light received by the light-receiving means. The apparatus may be applied to an endoscope and other optical systems.

摘要： An illuminating optical system for endoscopes comprising a prism having surfaces adapted to totally reflect the light led into the prism and a surface adapted to project the light toward an object to be observed, and at least one tubular transparent member adjacent on one end face to a light source and contacting on the other end face with one of the surfaces of the prism to lead the light from the light source into the prism, so that, in spite of a high magnification, the uniform illumination is made and a clear stereoscopic image having no flare is always obtained. This prism may be arranged coaxially to or in parallel with the observing optical system. The tubular transparent member has an outer peripheral surface provided thereon a light shielding member and an inner peripheral surface which can scramble-reflect the light introduced into the interior.

摘要： In manufacturing a field effect transistor, a pattern which has a wider upper layer and a narrower lower layer is formed at a gate electrode position. Using the pattern as a mask, first and second impurity regions are formed on both the sides of a gate region by ion implantation. Subsequently, at least the lower layer is buried in a material, such as an organic high polymer material, having a selectivity in etching characteristics with respect to the pattern material. After removing the lower layer, an electrode material is embedded in the resulting hole so as to form a gate electrode.

The cutoff system includes a pair of seal pistons urged toward one another to cut off the fluid passageway while allowing fluid trapped between the pistons to escape back into the line, and an external clamp mechanism which allows the line to be separated after the fluid flow has been cut off.
