摘要: A rectangular array of 6.times.150 bits is divided into 50 rectangular arrays of 8.times.3 bits with 2 check bits added, resulting in 50 codes C.sub.2. This encoding is executed 50 times to form a rectangular array of 8.times.150 bits and each of its rows is encoded into a code C.sub.1 of 166 bits with 16 check bits added. This encoding is executed eight times to form a codeword of a generalized product code, which includes 8.times.166 bits and each row following 12 synchronizing bits. Errors are detected in the codes C.sub.1 decoded from the codeword to produce erasure information which is utilized to correct the code C.sub.2. Then, the original array is reproduced.

摘要: There is provided a technique that enables a process to be performed smoothly between two processing units of an OLT after rebooting of one of the processing units even in the case where a process by the processing unit is temporarily halted. An upper processing unit can be temporarily halted when updating firmware. A basic communication unit (lower processing unit) is configured to maintain its operation even when the upper processing unit is temporarily halted. When an event occurs during a halt period of the upper processing unit, a matching unit matches a management state stored in a first storage unit with a management state stored in a second storage unit after the halt period of the upper processing unit.

摘要: A dynamic bandwidth allocation apparatus 12 of the present invention is mounted on, for example, an optical line terminal 1 in a PON system that relays upstream frames F1 and F2 received from optical network units 2, to upper networks 6. The dynamic bandwidth allocation apparatus 12 calculates, based on the reception rates of the upstream frames F1 and F2 from the optical network units 2, the sending rates of relay destinations of the upstream frames F1 and F2, and changes in the amounts of data occurring upon relaying the upstream frames F1 and F2, allocated bandwidth upper limits (max_bw) at which even when the amounts of data increase, the upstream frames F1 and F2 can be relayed; and dynamically allocates amounts of upstream transmission for the respective optical network units 2 in the range of the calculated allocated bandwidth upper limits (max_bw).

摘要: There is provided a digital broadcasting receiver apparatus in which a temperature in the area surrounding a removable HDD does not become a high temperature during an operation regardless of whether it is disposed horizontally or vertically. A component with a large heat generating quantity and a component with a small heat generating quantity are installed in respective spaces inside a case. An adapter of the removable HDD is mounted to dispose the removable HDD in a space in which a component with a small heat generating quantity is mounted, thereby preventing the temperature in the area surrounding the removable HDD from becoming a high temperature.

摘要: A chain-type driving force transmitting apparatus includes a case having a lower space accumulating therein lubricating oil, an input shaft rotatably supported by the case, an output shaft arranged in parallel with the input shaft and rotatably supported by the case, and a chain wound around the input shaft and the output shaft and lifting up the lubricating oil accumulated in the lower space of the case. The chain-type driving force transmitting apparatus further includes a separator positioned adjacent to the chain and dividing the lower space of the case into a first chamber housing the chain and a second chamber. The separator has an inclined portion formed at an upper end of the separator and inclining towards the chain so as to receive the lubricating oil lifted up by the chain, wherein the lubricating oil received by the inclined portion flows into the second chamber.
