Abstract: A wireless station of a radio access network receives a reselection priority value of a frequency band used when the wireless station is an E-UTRA-NR Dual Connectivity (EN-DC) anchor. The wireless station broadcasts an intra-frequency system information block (SIB) that includes a first Cell Reselection Priority information element (IE) and a first Anchor-cell Reselection Priority IE, wherein the first Anchor-cell Reselection Priority IE includes the reselection priority value of the frequency band used by the wireless station. The wireless station also broadcast an inter-frequency SIB that includes a second Cell Reselection Priority IE and a second Anchor-cell Reselection Priority IE, wherein the second Anchor-cell Reselection Priority IE includes another reselection priority value of another frequency band for another EN-DC anchor. Use of additional anchor-cell priorities enable EN-DC-capable end devices to camp on an anchor cell even when a non-anchor cell has a higher conventional priority than the anchor cell.

Abstract: A base station may configure an access beam group to include one or more antenna beams for communicating with one or more user equipment (UE). The base station may configure a backhaul beam group to include one or more antenna beams for communicating with one or more other base stations. The base station may monitor network traffic associated with the access beam group and/or the backhaul beam group, and may determine that the network traffic satisfies a condition. The base station may modify the access beam group and/or the backhaul beam group to add or remove at least one antenna beam based on determining that the network traffic satisfies the condition.

Abstract: Systems and methods described herein enable optimizing carrier aggregation over a dual-connectivity bearer. A wireless station determines a buffer size for an end device connected to the wireless station via a wireless communication interface. The buffer size reflects a service requirement for the end device. The wireless station determines, for the end device and based on the buffer size, an optimal carrier aggregation combination to satisfy a service requirement for the end device, wherein the optimal carrier aggregation combination is selected from a dynamic list of component carriers for different radio access technology (RAT) types that are available to end devices serviced by the wireless station; and sends, to the end device, instructions to implement the carrier aggregation combination.

Abstract: A system described herein may provide a technique for performing carrier aggregation in a wireless telecommunications network in a manner that accounts for (a) diverse licenses for different carriers across different regions, (b) network considerations in minimizing the number of times carrier aggregation is performed, and (c) user equipment (“UE”) considerations in maximizing battery life by utilizing only the carriers that are necessary to utilize. A smallest carrier (or group of carriers) may be identified as a default carriers, and other carriers or groups of carriers may be ranked in descending order, according to size. The ranked list may be iteratively used when performing carrier aggregation, in which the largest available carrier (or group of carriers) from the list may be used for carrier aggregation.
