    摘要: An image quality detecting apparatus detects image quality based on a specified image pattern formed on an image carrier. This apparatus includes a light-emitting device that radiates a spotlight on the image carrier, a lens, a scanning unit that scans the image pattern with the spotlight, and a photoelectric conversion element that detects a quantity of light reflected from the image pattern and the image carrier or light transmitted through the image pattern and the image carrier during the scanning. The image quality is detected by setting a diameter of the spotlight at least in a scanning direction to the reciprocal number of a spatial frequency or smaller in which human eyesight is the most sensitive, for example, to 1000 μm or less.

    摘要: An image quality detecting apparatus detects image quality based on a specified image pattern formed on an image carrier. This apparatus includes a light-emitting device that radiates a spotlight on the image carrier, a lens, a scanning unit that scans the image pattern with the spotlight, and a photoelectric conversion element that detects a quantity of light reflected from the image pattern and the image carrier or light transmitted through the image pattern and the image carrier during the scanning. The controller determines whether each of the detection values is pass or fail. In response to a determination that a detection value is fail, the controller corrects the wiring intensity based on another detection value determined to be pass at a position different from a position at which the detection value is determined to be fail, instead of correcting the writing intensity based on the detection value determined to be fail.

    摘要: An image forming apparatus includes an image carrier, a rotation-position detector, a development device, a transfer unit, a density sensor, and an image-forming-condition determination unit. The density sensor senses a density of a toner image on a transfer body. The image-forming-condition determination unit forms an image pattern, acquires periodical density variation information sensed by the density sensor and detection information of the rotation-position detector, and determines an image forming condition based on the periodical density variation information and the detection information acquired. The image carrier and the transfer body are different in linear velocity in an image formation in which the toner image is transferred to a recording medium. The image carrier and the transfer body are controlled to be equal in linear velocity in an information acquisition in which the image-forming-condition determination unit acquires the periodical density variation information and the detection information.
