摘要： A rectangular tube (10) of a terminal fitting (T) includes a lid plate (16) extending substantially at a right angle from the extending end of a right side plate (15) and formed with a locking hole (20) extending over the entire width. A front plate (19F) is cantilevered from the right side plate (15) and arranged before the locking hole (20). A rear plate (19R) is cantilevered from the right side plate independently of the front plate (19F) and is behind and adjacent to the locking hole (20). A retracted portion (21) is formed over the entire width at the rear plate (19R), retracted inwardly of the rectangular tube (10) from the front plate (19F) to provide a height difference within the range of an engagement margin with a locking projection (34) and capable of facing a rear end of the locking projection (34).

摘要： A connector has a reduced height housing, and a reduced risk of breaking an electric wire. Electric wires Fc are connected by gripping pressure between connecting members 46 located at tips of arm members 42 of terminal fittings 40. When the terminal fittings 40 are in an attached state with a connector housing 10, the pair of arm members 42 are aligned in a width-wise direction of a flat cable F. Consequently, the height of the connector housing 10 can be reduced. Further, when the electric wires Fc are to be connected with the terminal fittings 40, these electric wires Fc merely need to be moved in a direction at a right angle to their direction of distribution until they are gripped between the connecting members 46. When this connection takes place, a pulling force is not exerted on the electric wires Fc in a length-wise direction. Consequently, breakage of these electric wires Fc can be avoided.

摘要： A connector assembly for connecting a flexible wiring plate, having circuit conductors coated with insulator films on the two sides thereof, to a box-like connector housing. The connector housing includes a housing body and a lid body detachably secured to the housing body. The housing body is provided with an opening in one of the top and bottom walls. An elastic seal member is mounted around the opening. A part of the insulator film of the flexible wiring plate is removed in accordance with the opening so that end portions of the circuit conductors are exposed from the insulator film in opposition to the opening. Electrical terminals are disposed in the housing body so that elastic contacts of the terminals engage with the exposed end portions of the circuit conductors.

摘要： A connector for a flat cable having a hollow casing with a cavity therein. The cavity receives a leading end of the flat cable through a front opening in the casing. The cable has a plurality of flat terminals on both sides of the leading end. Complementary front and rear terminals are inserted into the cavity from front and rear openings in the casing. Each set of terminals contacts one side of the leading end of the cable. The leads from each set of terminals extend outwardly of the casing in opposite directions, thereby reducing the density of leads and facilitating assembly thereof.
