摘要: An active foodware system includes a visual-stimulating component for displaying information related to a plurality of sensing components, such as load cells, sensing weight of food on respective dining surfaces of supporting dining plates. A mechanical structure supports and positions the dining plates in a constrained relationship to each other, and cavities in the mechanical structure may unattachedly mate with the dining plates. A wireless communication component wirelessly sends weight data to the visual-stimulating component, such as a mobile phone or tablet computer. The system is configured to determine calories of the food, and the system may include a camera for sensing the food or a diner. The visual-stimulating component may display information other than information provided by a scale, and auditory and haptic stimuli may also be provided.

In an example embodiment, a food consumption utensil may include a handle portion, a food loading portion adjacent to the handle portion, the food loading portion having a first surface and a second surface, and a controller positioned within the handle portion. The food consumption utensil may include an accelerometer positioned within the handle portion and in communication with the controller, and a force measurement device configured to measure a force imparted at the first surface of the food loading portion.

摘要: The invention is directed to a progressive feeding apparatus comprising: a handle assembly having a handle arch and handle grip; a free end included in the handle arch that extends past an end of the handle grip; a utensil attached to the handle assembly having a downward angle in the range of 30° and 70°, a twist offset angle of 10° or greater, and a lateral offset angle in the range of 5° and 90°. A distal cross-section area can be unequal to a proximal cross-section area of the handle grip. A weight can be disposed in a cavity defined in the handle grip. The weight can be positionable within the cavity and configured to modify a center of gravity of the handle assembly.
