摘要： An apparatus allowing an individual to feed himself or herself without the use of their hands and without requiring assistance. An eating utensil is held by a utensil holder mounted on the top of a rotating shaft. The rotating shaft is fixedly attached to a rotary disk. The rotary disk is rotatably connected to a fixed shaft, which in turn is fixedly mounted to a base. The user removes the utensil from the mount using his or mouth, obtains a portion of food using the utensil, places the utensil back on the mount, and rotates the mount 180 degrees so the portion of food can thereby be consumed.

摘要： Overmolded articles of cutlery that include a first molded structure that includes a working end and a longitudinal support core extending away from the working end, the core including top and bottom surfaces and opposed sidewalls located along its length with the sidewalls having a height that extends above the top surface of the core; and a second molded structure present upon the top surface of the core between the sidewalls forming with the support core a handle for the article. Preferably, the first and second molded structures have different colors and the first molded structure includes islands so as to enhance the appearance of the cutlery. Also, methods of making these articles by overmolding the second molded structure over at least a portion of the first molded structure are disclosed.

摘要： Systems and methods for tracking unintentional muscle movements of a user and stabilizing a handheld tool while it is being used are described. The method may include measuring, with a first inertial measuring unit (“IMU”), at least an orientation of a housing of the handheld tool, and measuring, with a second IMU, at least an orientation or an attachment arm extending from the housing of the handheld tool. The method may also include storing the orientation of the housing and the orientation of the attachment arm in a memory. Furthermore, the method may include controlling, with a processing logic, a first motion generating mechanism and a second motion generating mechanism to move the attachment arm relative to the housing based on the measured orientation of the housing and the measured orientation of the attachment arm to stabilize motion of a user-assistive device attached to a distal end of the attachment arm.

Example methods may include receiving an image of a first food item positioned at a first location and a second food item positioned at a second location, the image comprising location metadata, determining, based at least in part on the image and the location metadata, a first set of coordinates corresponding to a first perimeter of the first location of the first food item, and determining a second set of coordinates corresponding to a second perimeter of the second location of the second food item. Example methods may include determining that a utensil performed a gesture associated with a food consumption event, determining that an origination point of the food consumption utensil at a start of the gesture was within the first perimeter, and identifying a weight measurement of a food portion on the utensil.
