Abstract: A tire traction device which may improve or provide tire traction for various vehicles is described. The tire traction device includes a board having a first end and a second end, wherein the first end has a curved edge and the second end has a slanted edge. The board may include more than one section. The board includes a rough top surface, and a plurality of spikes extend from the bottom surface of the board. The tire traction device may also include a flexible component attached to the board. The flexible component is designed so that it may be drawn underneath a spinning tire.

Abstract: An inventive traction device is provided for extricating mired vehicles from mud, snow or sand. The device is comprised of modules linked together to create a track upon which a mired vehicle drives over. The individual modules each have four walls forming a trough and a number of tire supports which rise up from the floor of the trough. The trough-like construction of the device helps prevent the device from becoming overloaded with mud deposited from mired vehicle tires.

Abstract: A studded traction assist strip for providing emergency traction in the event of snow or ice conditions resulting in a stuck vehicle. The strip includes a generally flat and thin elongate body formed from a resilient rubber material. The body further includes a road facing surface and a wheel traction surface. Abstract: Method and apparatus for pulling a vehicle free from mud, etc. using a vehicle drive wheel as a windless or winch and employing an elongated flexible strap, a gripper plate mounted on a leading end of the strap and an anchor plate mounted on a trailing end of the strap. The gripper plate is inserted between the tire and its support surface with upstanding teeth of the gripper plate engaging the tire. The drive wheel is then rotated with the vehicle engine to draw the gripper plate around the tire and wrap the trailing strap around the tire. The gripper plate is then secured to the overlapping strap, the anchor plate is anchored at a remote point aligned with the drive wheel and the vehicle is driven towards the anchor point using the strap to pull the vehicle free.

Abstract: A series of U-shaped frames have their web and legs of progressively greater length. A smaller-size frame fits between and is pivoted to the free ends of the legs of the next larger-size frame. When the device is extended, each frame projects outwardly from an adjacent frame. Abstract: An improved portable traction track for a vehicle driving wheel which is characterized by a plurality of base sections flexibly connected to one another to form an elongate strip adapted to be pulled under a rotating driving wheel. Each of the base sections include transversely spaced vertical side walls which have longitudinally spaced edges which are disposed in predetermined angular relationship to the edges of the immediately adjacent side walls in a decreasing angular relationship from the front toward the rear of the strip. The edges of the side walls are also provided with locking features such that upon flexing of the base sections in one direction, the side sections engage one another to permit only predetermined amount of flexing of that portion of the strip. This construction provides a bridge effect as the vehicle wheel rotates and pulls the strip under the wheel to the point at which the wheel is driven out of the rut in which it is stuck.

Abstract: My invention relates to a device for providing additional traction and grip for aiding an automobile which has been disabled by a rut or a slippery road surface or stuck in mud, sand or snow. The device provides a belt having a wedge-shaped appendage at one end so that, if the belt is pulled under the wheel, the spinning is reduced or stopped, and the wedge provides additional traction and lift to free the automobile.
