    摘要： A collapsible container made of a four-sided enclosure having two opposite panels foldable at their center and foldable relative to the two other opposite panels such that the enclosure may be collapsed by folding inwardly the two foldable panels. One unfoldable panel is hingedly attached to a tray in which the bottom of the erected enclosure is disposed and the collapsed enclosure is capable of laying flat in the tray after pivoting around the hinged structure attaching the non-foldable panel to the tray. A lid or cap is also provided for capping the enclosure when in an erected configuration ready to be filled with articles and for covering the tray containing the collapsed container enclosure. Preferably, the tray is mounted on the top of a pallet.

    摘要： A collapsible receptacle is provided for use in the bulk handling of various articles, such as fresh produce. The receptacle is formed from a blank of foldable sheet material, such as corrugated fibreboard and includes upright first and second wall panels and corner panels interposed said wall panels and foldably connected thereto. The wall and corner panels delimit a predetermined area. Bottom-forming first, second, and third flaps are foldably connected, respectively, to the corresponding bottom edges of the first and second wall panels and the corner panels. Each third flap has one edge thereof separated by a slot from a second flap and has an opposite edge thereof connected by a first foldline to an adjoining edge of a first flap. The distal outer end of each first foldline terminates in a notch. Each third flap has a second foldline which extends outwardly from a corner of the flap to the outer edge thereof whereby the third flap is formed into major and minor portions. When forming the bottom of the receptacle, the first and third flaps are initially folded as a unit into the predetermined area and then the second flaps are folded into the predetermined area whereby opposing edge portions thereof extend through and interlockingly engage the corresponding notches formed between the first and third flaps.

    摘要： A container for goods, in which the base of the container on which the goods are to rest comprises flaps folded towards one another from sides of the container, the folds thereby defining a lower peripheral edge around the container, and a support which in use spaces the container base from the ground, the underside of the container being secured to the support by tongues which are retained on the container and emerge through apertures in said lower peripheral edge of the container to engage cooperating clips on the support. A kit for assembling the container is also disclosed, comprising a blank from which can be folded a container having the features outlined above, and a support having clips for receiving tongues fitted to the folded blank. Two kinds of cooperating clips and tongues are specifically described and illustrated.

    摘要： A wood pallet includes a top deck, a bottom deck and spacer members. The top deck includes a pair of end members, a pair of side members, and a plurality of intermediate load supporting members. The side members include means forming inwardly facing recesses for receiving the end members, the recesses including end facing abutments to engage the inside edge of the end members so that inwardly directed forces are transmitted into and partially absorbed by the side members. The end members include beveled ends which are received against complementary beveled surfaces within the recesses to assist in securing the end members to the pallet. The bottom deck is provided with a relatively large surface area, but with openings to accommodate the wheels of a hand transport. The top and bottom decks are separated by means of spacer members including longitudinally extending stringers on which are mounted blocks of plywood. Nine plywood blocks are installed at the corners of the pallet and intermediately of the end and side members to provide an eight-way access to the pallet by the tongs of a fork lift. Corrugated fasteners are used to assemble both the top and bottom decks, the corrugated fasteners being installed on the interior surfaces of both decks.

    摘要： A pallet having a rectangular shaped load carrying deck of generally uniform thickness. The deck is formed of several sheets of flexible wooden material with spring characteristics. The sheets of flexible wooden material are superimposed on one another and formed to be arcuate about a single axis. The sheets are glued together so as to constitute an arcuate structure substantially free from inherent tension forces in its unloaded condition and having sufficient elasticity to assume a substantially planar form under load. Supporting means are attached to the under convex side of the deck. The supporting means are arranged in a plurality of parallel rows extending in the direction of the single axis. One of the rows is located in the plane intersecting the axis and a line on the deck substantially corresponding to the central deck line. A second row of supports extend along the first outer edge portion of the deck and a third row of supports extend along a second outer edge portion of the deck.

    摘要： A pallet assembly combines a structurally simple, although relatively expensive, heavy-duty, high quality pallet with an expendable, inexpensive, light-weight, and extraordinarily simple shipper skid. The heavy-duty pallet is made of solid hardwood lumber or other durable material such as plastic and is designed for long lasting service. The expendable shipper skid is made of a light-weight hardwood, plastic or corrugated fiberboard. The pallet assembly is entered by a forklift from one direction and the shipper skid and a load thereon is arranged to be lifted from the pallet assembly by a forklift entering from a direction displaced 90.degree. from said first mentioned direction. Notches in the intermediate as well as the end runners of the heavy-duty pallet allow the tines of the forklift to pass through the entire pallet assembly when the expendable shipper skid is to be lifted. Only the inexpensive expendable shipper skid is shipped with the load. This avoids risking damage to or on return of the more expensive heavy-duty pallet.
