摘要： An apparatus for storing, transporting and dispensing conveyor belts is described. The apparatus, in the form of a crate, has top and bottom conventional pallets, allowing for easy handling and strength for additional stacked crates. The center of the crate holds a hub assembly that moves rotationally, and allows smooth transition from consecutive layers of the conveyor belt wrapped thereon. During shipment, the roll of conveyor belt lies on its side. In one embodiment, a center pipe axle of the spool passes through holes in the top and bottom pallets. Alternatively, the center pipe axle passes through channels created between planks of the top and bottom pallets. These configurations secure the roll in the crate, and allow it to turn freely when loaded or unloaded.

Each panel of the first type is flanked along its opposing upright edges by a pair of adjacent panels of the second type. Each of the edges of each of the panels is coupled by an edge joining assembly to one of the edges of one of the flanking panels.

In the shipping rack, the linkage assembly of one product storage apparatus may control an adjacent product storage apparatus.

The sidewalls are removably connected to the corner posts by interlocking slip joints. This slip joint configuration also removably connects the sidewalls to the base palette. The corners are secured to the base palette using four plastic bolts. The base palette has cutouts, to define feet and to provide for forklift (or other lifting devices) arm access in at least two directions. The sidewalls can also be designed for lifting by a claw lifting apparatus. The corner posts include a notch to allow cables to be secured during transportation. The container is designed primarily for the storage and transportation of agricultural products, though other uses are also possible.
