    摘要: A universal stud for use with demountable wall partitions and demountable ceiling panels is provided. A base having a first end and a second end is provided. The base has sufficient structure for removably engaging a demountable wall partition and/or a demountable ceiling panel. A plurality of arms extend from the base. Two arms and the base define a channel for receiving either the demountable wall partition or the demountable ceiling panel. The universal stud can be oriented vertically to accept a demountable wall partition, or, can be oriented horizontally to receive either the demountable wall partition or the demountable ceiling panel.

    摘要: The invention concerns a building element which is a stud (10) having a number of channels (12). Each channel can receive a cooperating means (14) which can be used to mount a panel or bracket on the stud. The invention also concerns a building element which is a joining clip (16) which can be connected to a panel or bracket. The joining clip includes the cooperating means (14) for mounting a panel or bracket on the stud. The invention also concerns a building element which is a joining element (42) which can connect one panel to another. The joining element is hinged (46). The invention also discloses two types of bracket for mounting in the stud. The first type has a screw-threaded shaft (71) and a sleeve (72) with cooperating means (73) at one end of the sleeve. The cooperating means is shaped so that it can be inserted horizontally in a channel of the stud and rotated so that the cooperating means cannot be withdrawn horizontally from the channel. The bracket may thereafter be locked into position in the channel. The second type of bracket has two arms (81, 82) at an angle to each other (83). Cooperating means (84) are located at one end of one arm (81). The cooperating means is shaped so that it can be inserted horizontally in a channel of the stud and rotated so that the cooperating means cannot be withdrawn horizontally from the channel. The one arm of the bracket may thereafter be pushed into position in the channel. A track (60) is adapted to be hung from a horizontal surface (61), the track having a gutter (59) adapted to receive a connecting clip (63) attached to an end of a panel (18), the track also having a channel (59) adapted to receive a masking clip (64) adapted to conceal the end of the channel.

The panels are held against the inner surface of at least one flange by an independent spacer member (14) having different cross-sectional dimensions in different directions. Different numbers of thicknesses of the panel members can be accommodated between the flanges of identical studs by varying the orientation of identical spacer members relative to the studs.

    摘要: A one-piece metal stud comprises a longitudinal web with generally centrally located punch outs forming alternately oriented bent tabs, a folded and hemmed front flange, and a back flange formed of alternately oriented bent tabs. The bent tabs are folded into a lip of double thickness and extend back past the web in a single thickness. The punch out tabs and the back flange tabs form channels therebetween on each side of the web for holding a separate wallboard panel in each channel. A further wallboard panel or panels can be fastened to the front flange or to both the front flange and back flange tabs to complete formation of a double-wall or cavity wall construction.

    摘要: A bracket retaining and support structure for cooperative engagement with a wall stud and adapted for receipt in passageways disposed thereon of the hook ends of support brackets for shelves or the like. The bracket support structure includes a pair of oppositely disposed elongate extruded metal members having respective matingly engageable tongue and groove portions to enable assembly of the channel members together to form the support structure. An elongate metal bar provided with said passageways along the length thereof is retained by said support structure in a slot formed between said channel members; a pair of closely spaced forwardly extending flanges on the channel members form an entranceway in the support structure opening to the passageways on the metal bar to permit insertion of the hook ends of the support brackets within the passageways. In one embodiment, the bar has closely-spaced cut-out portions or notches along the elongate edges thereof and the walls of the bar-receiving slot within which the bar is disposed are deformed into the notches to permanently retain the bar within the slot. In another embodiment, the bar is provided with knurling to bite into the walls of the slot upon permanent assembly of the bar therewithin. In further embodiments, the bar is provided with a rolled groove or a plurality of shear-form protruding portions to bite into the walls of the slot for permanent assembly of the bar therewithin.
