    摘要: Sighting optics include a front sight and a rear sight positioned in a spaced-apart relation. The rear sight includes an optical element having a first focal length and a second focal length. The first focal length is selected so that it is about equal to a distance separating the optical element and the front sight and the second focal length is selected so that it is about equal to a target distance. The optical element thus brings into simultaneous focus for a user images of the front sight and the target.

    摘要: A sighting system for a fire arm, e.g. machine gun includes front and rear sight assemblies. The rear sight assembly has a pivotal L-shaped member having two different sized apertures. Pivotal and windage lateral movements of the L-shaped member are achieved via a threaded shaft and a knob held in place via a detent screw/plunger assembly. The L-shaped member is secured in place via the detent plunger spring assembly. The front sight assembly is configured for windage lateral movement and has a sight post that is raised and lowered and secured in place via detent plunger spring assemblies. Another embodiment includes a rear sight assembly which may be configured for windage lateral movement. Detent plunger spring assemblies secure an aperture member of the rear sight assembly and the front sight assembly during operation of the fire arm, and the front sight assembly is configured for elevational and windage lateral movements.

    摘要: A single-mirror target viewing apparatus configured for enabling a gun to be fired at a desired target from a cover position in an aimed manner. The target viewing apparatus comprises a primary mirror assembly, a mounting base and an auxiliary mirror assembly. The primary mirror assembly includes a single utilized mirror that provides a target imaging surface. The mounting base is configured for being attached to a gun and having the primary mirror assembly moveably attached thereto. The single utilized mirror is movable between a stowed position and a deployed position and is rotatable between a plurality of rotational positions when in the deployed position. The auxiliary mirror assembly is removably attached to at least one of the primary mirror assembly and the mounting base. The single utilized mirror of the primary mirror assembly is a first configuration and the auxiliary mirror assembly includes a mirror of a second configuration different than the first configuration. Accordingly, the auxiliary mirror assembly 200 may be installed and utilized in instances where the configuration of the single utilized mirror 26 is undesirable, inadequate and/or insufficient.

Each sight having light-gathering means functions dependently defining a highly visible aiming point. An elongated light-gathering plastic rod retained on a front sight base member includes a triangular viewing surface. An oval-shaped light-gathering plastic rod, retained within a rear sight housing, includes two triangular shaped viewing surfaces disposed in a V-shaped void of the housing. From a user's perspective three lighted triangular shaped viewing ends of the light-gathering means define an aiming point and provide immediate target acquisition. Multi-colored light-gathering means and the creation of hot-spots further improve the present gun sight system.
