Abstract:
The present cover has a connector configuration that allows several identical covers to be joined together on top of each other to form a cover system. The covers can be turned with respect to each other so that a label on the cover on the item inside the cover can be easily seen. The connector includes a cylindrical portion which, when mated to an identical cylindrical portion on another cover, permits a pivotable connection. The covers, when joined, can be rotated only in a direction parallel to main surfaces of the covers.
Abstract:
This invention relates to paperboard and plastic composite package structures that combine an intricate thermoformed shell with a paperboard base or cover. Such structures of this type, generally, provide a lightweight package with a good printing surface on the outside of the package.
Abstract:
Packaging for data or recording media, for example for magnetic tape cassettes or compact disks, consists of snapped together lower and upper parts and a support frame, in the end areas of which spring elements are formed which press the lower part and upper part apart. The spring elements are formed in the shape of legs at the end of the support frame, which is in the shape of a crosspiece, into which a resilient clasp can be inserted, the end sections of which press on the insides of the lower part and upper part. Tongues formed on the crosspiece and connected with the legs assure the mechanic stability and torsion stiffness of the support frame along with the most economical use of the material and form receptacles for the secure holding and positioning of the recording medium.
Abstract:
A packaging wrapper for disk-shaped magnetic information carriers is disclosed. The wrapper is formed by folding over a blank to form a flat wrapper. The wrapper has projecting tabs jutting out laterally from the sides of the front wrapper wall and overlap zones on the rear wrapper wall formed as a result of folding-over of the projecting tabs. The projecting tabs are firmly bonded to the rear wrapper wall by means of welding. The blank for forming the packaging wrapper is formed from a biaxially oriented, opaque multi-ply film comprising a base layer consisting essentially of polypropylene and fillers. The fillers are present in a quantity in the range from 10 to 30% by weight, relative to the total weight of the polypropylene and fillers.
Abstract:
A container for use in the mailing of flat recording media, discettes having computer programs or the like recorded thereon for example, comprises a pair of cover members which cooperate to define a pocket therebetween, at least two parts of these cover members being relatively movable with respect to each other to open and close the container. The relatively movable cover parts are provided with receivers for closure elements, the closure elements and the cover member receivers being designed such that once the container has been closed and the closure elements inserted the container may not be re-opened without destruction of the closure elements.
Abstract:
A method for heat treating metallic strips inside a heat treatment chamber at a pressure greater than atmospheric pressure including passing the strips through at least one heating zone of the chamber and moving the strip through at least one cooling zone of the chamber. A first protective gas atmosphere containing nitrogen and hydrogen and/or helium is established in all but at least one cooling zone. The at least one cooling zone has a second protective atmosphere containing nitrogen and a second amount of hydrogen, the second amount of hydrogen is greater than the first amount. Nitrogen is introduced into the chamber, and a protective gas containing a third hydrogen content greater than the second hydrogen content is injected into the cooling zone, producing a gas exchange between one zone of the chamber having the first protective atmosphere and the cooling zone, and controlling the flow of introduction and injection.
Abstract:
The invention is a case for receiving at least one data storage disk. The case is comprised of two cover members and a base. The case opens by sliding one or both cover members away from each other to allow removal of the disk from the base. The present improved DVD or CD case has very few components which are characterized by great simplicity whereby low manufacturing and assembly cost is achieved, without sacrificing reliability and resistance to breakage or malfunctioning. The case can be accommodated in existing racks, or holders and displays.
Abstract:
A disk cartridge has a reflection portion to identify a kind of a disk in the disk cartridge. A disk drive apparatus has an optical detector to identify the kind of the disk by irradiating a beam to the reflection portion and detecting the reflected beam. The disk cartridge and the disk drive apparatus provide identification marks for identifying the kind of the disk by varying the angle and amount of a beam reflected from the reflection portions on the disk cartridge. Therefore, the kind of a disk and the type of a disk format are identified as well as the storage capacity of the disk.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a method for metal strip heat treatment comprising: passing the strip inside a chamber through a heating zone, and a cooling zone, and establishing a first protective gas atmosphere containing nitrogen and a first hydrogen content in the chamber, except for the cooling zone, wherein is adjusted a second protective gas atmosphere containing nitrogen and a second hydrogen content higher than the first, introducing nitrogen into the chamber, injecting protective gas containing a third hydrogen content higher than said second content in said cooling zone, producing a gas exchange between one zone of the chamber having said first protective gas atmosphere and said cooling zone, and controlling the flow of said introduction and said injection.
Abstract:
The invention provides a media storage container having a base and lid connected by a hinge with base and lid front walls disposed opposite the hinge. The base and lid front walls or sidewalls of the container include portions of the title of the item of recorded media within the container such that a complete title is viewable when the container is closed. In one embodiment, the invention provides printed letters on the base and lid. Another embodiment of the invention provides raised letters that are built into the base and lid.
