摘要: A fused electrical connector having a molded body containing a fuse receptacle with a keyed construction. The keyed construction of the fuse receptacle is complementary to the fuse itself or a keyed construction attached to the fuse such that only a fuse having the correct key can be fitted to a particular connector. The keyed construction of the fuse receptacle may include channels and recesses which cooperate with formations on body parts which fit around a standard cartridge fuse. The keyed construction of the fuse receptacle may also include a central block which cooperate with a non-standard cartridge fuse.

摘要: A rejection-type fuse block is disclosed for use with Class CC cartridge-type fuses having ferrules at opposite ends, the ferrule at one end having a cap of smaller diameter than the ferrule. An insulated rejection collar having a rejection opening sized to allow the cap to pass therethrough while preventing passage of the ferrule is positioned between the fuse and an electrically conductive terminal. A leaf spring located at the end of the fuse opposite the cap end serves to axially press the fuse towards the insulated rejection collar and the cap into contact with the terminal. Fuse clips are provided for releasably securing the clip in proper position.

摘要: A fuse clip unit is constructed with an entrance unit having positive reject stops which prevent insertion of all except a selected fuse which provides branch circuit protection of 200,000 amps R.M.S. interrupting capacity. The selected fuse has a unique end nib which moves the stops to open the entrance unit and permit insertion of the fuse. The entrance unit may be integral with the fuse clip or formed as a separate cover. The fuse clip unit is secured within an insulating and mounting housing having clip chambers. A safety cover is secured to the housing overlying the chambers and includes a side insertion opening for each chamber which prevents access to the reject stops and thereby prevents manual moving of the stops to circumvent the reject stops.

摘要: Assembly systems for compact N-pole fusible pull out switches of different ratings use the same two part insulator bases and the same insulator pull out heads in all switches. In one system, for switches of a given current rating but two different voltage ratings, there are two types of fixed contacts in the base but the contacts are the same for both voltage ratings; the fuseholder/stab contact members in the head are all the same for both switch ratings, and all mounting hardware and incidental hardware is the same for all switches. The voltage ratings are differentiated from each other only by different base terminals and by different insulator barriers over the base contacts. In another system covering six switch ratings (three different current ratings and two different voltage ratings) the two part insulator bases, the insulator heads, and the base terminals are all the same and all mounting hardware and incidental hardware is the same for all rating combinations; the six different voltage/current ratings are differentiated from each other only by different fixed contacts in the base, by different fuseholder/stab members in the head, and by different insulator barriers. The second system has only three set of fixed contacts each used for two different rating combinations. Both systems preclude misassembly and misapplication in the field. A particularly compact fuseholder/stab construction is provided for high current ratings.

摘要: A circuit fuse assembly comprising a plurality of fuse elements which are simultaneously formed using printed circuit or through hole plating techniques and including means for easily substituting a different one of the plural fuse elements when the in-circuit fuse element burns out due to an overload current condition. In the preferred embodiment, the fuse assembly is (a) integrally formed with the printed circuit of the fused electrical apparatus and (b) formed with a common electrical connection such that a single electrical bridge of solder or other means enables substitution of a replacement fuse element. Other embodiments of the present invention provide a restorable printed circuit fuse for use in standard fuse holders, in-line plug connectors, conventional three prong plug connectors, edison bases, and plug-in triple outlets.

摘要: The fuse clip includes opposed arms, at least one of which is deflectable, for receiving the end terminal of a fuse cartridge. Maximum separation between the arms is determined by an abutment operatively associated with the deflectable arm. An obstruction is formed on at least one of the arms which is accommodated in an appropriately grooved fuse end terminal to accept insertion thereof. The obstruction engages an ungrooved fuse end terminal to thus require a separation of the arms precluded by the abutment, thereby rejecting insertion.

摘要: Terminal straps to which cartridge fuses are bolt or screw connected are provided with locating means which establish predetermined operative positions for a reject member securable to one or more of the terminal straps. When the reject member is not present, fuses of relatively high intermediate and low ratings may be mounted to the terminal straps. When the reject member is mounted in one of its operative positions, only the low rated fuse may be mounted to the terminal straps, and when the reject member is in another one of its operative positions, both the low and intermediate rated fuses may be mounted to the terminal straps, but high rated fuses may not be mounted thereto.
