摘要: In a DC-motor according to the present invention, contact areas of first brushes can be enlarged without enlarging the external diameter of a disk on which a commutator is provided; therefore, the wear resistance of the first brushes can be enhanced while maintaining a good control-response; and at the same time, the axial dimension can be shortened dramatically, so that the DC-motor can be downsized.The first brushes 14 are radially in contact with the commutator 11, and second brushes 15 are axially in contact with slip rings 12 that are formed circumferentially inside the commutator 11.

摘要: A commutation apparatus drives a brushless motor having a stator equipped with a plurality of coils and a rotor. The commutation apparatus comprises a rotatable commutator shaft, two or more conducting rings carried discretely about the shaft, and two or more conducting segments carried discretely about the shaft at staggered positions along or near a plane perpendicularly intersecting the shaft. Each conducting segment is electrically connected to one of the conducting rings. Two or more electrical source contacts are provided for rotatably connecting a power supply across pairs of the conducting rings. A plurality of electrical load contacts is further provided for sequentially, rotatably connecting the conducting segments to discrete coils of the brushless motor. In particular embodiments of the commutation apparatus, a magnetic coupling is employed for rotatably coupling the commutator shaft to the rotor of the brushless motor, and a pressure-bearing container is provided for rotatably supporting the commutator shaft and the coupling therein.

摘要: The Stationary Armature Machine (SAM) comprised of a stationary armature, a stationary commutator affixed to the frame or housing and a rotating field and brushes affixed to a common shaft as a means for mechanical commutation of electrical currents based on Lorentz' force law. SAM's unique stationary armature increases current carrying capacity and heat abatement at low voltages and high rotating speeds without increasing overall physical size relative to BLDC motors. SAM's armature and field structure are arranged in reverse having the armature in a stationary position with a commutation assembly affixed to the machine's housing while said field structure (and brush assembly) rotate at the center of the machine. By making the armature and commutator assembly stationary, the current carrying conductors can be made much larger without being subjected to extreme centrifugal forces at high rotating velocities. SAM is ideally suited for applications that require high torque and power at high rotational speeds in a small inexpensive package.

摘要: A system for controlling a rotatable device, the system comprising a controller and a rotary device, which has a stator and rotor, wherein the controller is connected to the rotary device to control rotation of the rotary device, and wherein the controller is adapted to periodically energizes at least one energizing coil of the device to create a magnetic field of a polarity which induces the rotor to rotate in a single direction and wherein the controller is switched off so as to de-energize the energizing coil when other forces, being forces other than those resulting from the energized energizing coil, produce a resultant force which induces rotation of the rotor in the single direction.

摘要: A self-excited reluctance motor capable of driving a motor with a commutator and without having to use a commutator logic for power electric circuit. The self-excited reluctance motor includes a stator having a plurality of stator poles respectively wound by wires of different phases; a rotator having a plurality of rotator poles formed on an outer circumference thereof, the rotator rotatably inserted in the stator; and a commutator. The commutator includes a body coaxially arranged with the rotator, and formed of an insulating material; an electrode formed on an outer circumference of the commutator body; a plurality of switching portions formed on the outer circumference of the commutator body at a predetermined distance from each other, and electrically connected with the electrode; a plurality of switching brushes connected to stator wires of different phases and to the plurality of switching portions, for permitting an electric current to flow the respective stator wires; and an electrode brush electrically connected to an external power source and to the electrode.
