摘要： The present invention is to provide a protective mechanism for a padlock, which comprises a casing having a connecting member at either top or bottom, a cover formed at the top of the casing and a base formed at the bottom of the casing being connected to the top and bottom of the connecting member by soldering respectively, so that the casing, the cover and the base are adapted to enclose a body of the padlock. The base comprises an opening having an annular, downwardly extended flange for receiving a keyhole of the padlock, and an extension member having a recessed enlargement at one open end for being hingedly coupled to one side of the base, so that a pivotal movement of the extension member toward the base will snap the enlargement into and seal the opening.

摘要： The present invention provides an apparatus and method whereby the reliability and tamper-resistance of tamper indicators can be improved. A flexible connector may be routed through a latch for an enclosure such as a door or container, and the free ends of the flexible connector may be passed through a first locking member and firmly attached to an insert through the use of one or more attachment members such as set screws. A second locking member may then be assembled in interlocking relation with the first locking member to form an interlocked assembly around the insert. The insert may have one or more sharp projections extending toward the first or second locking member so that any compressive force applied in an attempt to disassemble the interlocked assembly results in permanent, visible damage to the first or second locking member.

摘要： A padlock concept consisting of a novel shackle comprised of two tapered shackle elements arranged so that they overlay each other to enclose and opening sufficient to accept the staple of a hasp or attachment device. The shackle elements are connected at one end and when unlocked and unlatched are free to move apart, in a motion causing the two shackle elements to separate, providing a clearance between them, at the unconnected end. Each shackle element includes an opening to allow the staple of the hasp to pass to the common opening. This clearance occurs in opposing elements so that when the elements are brought together or closed the staple of the hasp is completely enclosed by the two shackle elements which substantially fill the space available within the hasp staple. The elements are then latched and locked to provide the security function of a padlock engaged with the staple of a hasp or attachment device.

摘要： Method and apparatus to provide a weatherproof enclosure for one or more padlocks. The invention incorporates a weatherproof case cover and case body sized and shaped to house a plurality of padlocks together with the two looped ends of a cable that is used to secure a gate or other opening. Two donut shaped gaskets made of a resilient material are positioned on the cable in order that they make secure compressed contact with the case cover and case body when they are in a closed position. The case cover and case body are both shaped to receive the donut shaped gaskets at the points of contact and yet sufficiently compress the gaskets to form a weatherproof seal. The case cover and case body are sized and shaped in order that both have a channel at the point of contact between the case cover and case body. A gasket in two sections is positioned in the channel and is sized and shaped to be slightly compressed when the case cover and case body are in a closed position resulting in a continuation of the weatherproof seal.
