摘要: An application device having a trough tapering downward in a wedge shape, through which a web is guided vertically from top to bottom, and which is sealed at the lower end by means of a horizontal hose. The hose abuts against the web from one side, while the web slips along on the opposite side at the lower end of the side surface of the trough. The side surface is formed on a counter-bearer, which is concave at its lower side, so that a deflection roller arranged beneath it can be set as high as possible, and the free web section from the hose gap to the contact point on the deflection roller is as short as possible.

摘要: An apparatus defining a travel path for dyeing a traveling textile strand in a continuous in-line process includes: an applicator for metering and applying a predetermined amount of a liquid to a traveling textile strand along a travel path defined by the apparatus whereby the traveling strand is saturated with the liquid; means for heating the traveling strand to a first predetermined temperature and then to a second predetermined temperature for drying and finishing the traveling strand, the heating means including at least one heated roll disposed along the travel path adjacent to and downstream of said applicator; and a winding arrangement disposed at the end of the travel path adjacent to and downstream of the heating means for winding the dried and finished traveling strand on a bobbin to form a finished package following the heating of the traveling strand. The heating means includes a first pair of heated rolls for heating the traveling strand to the first predetermined temperature ad a second pair of heated rolls for heating the traveling strand to the second predetermined temperature. Alternatively, the heating means includes a single roll having a first heating zone which heats the traveling strand to the first predetermined temperature and a second heating zone which heats the traveling strand to the second predetermined temperature. Preferably, the travel path extends from the applicator directly to the heating means, and from the heating means directly to the winding arrangement.

摘要: A device for application of a minimum quantity of fluid to a web of goods of a given width, wherein application takes place by means of an application beam in which the fluid is distributed uniformly over the working width through a plurality of fluid lines that branch in the manner of a tree trunk. The outlet openings of the lines terminate in a slot that is open facing the web, the length of the slot being delimited by two lengthwise edges. These edges press against a pressure roller located on the opposite side, i.e the back of the web. By means of these lengthwise edges, as the web passes though, its nap is compressed twice, once at the beginning of application with a first lengthwise edge, after which the nap stands up again in the slot and is saturated with the fluid, and again at the end of the application, after which the web is finally squeezed against the second lengthwise edge.

摘要: A method and apparatus for real time processing of digitally encoded pattern information suitable for distributing such information to a large number of individual pattern applicators which are grouped into a number of successive arrays. When applied to a patterning process involving the selective application of dye streams to a moving substrate, the disclosed real time processing includes transforming pattern data to corresponding dye contact times, resequencing the transformed data to compensate for physical spacing between arrays, and converting the resequenced data to logical dye stream contact commands to be sent to the individual applicators.

摘要: In a process and a device for the impregnating and/or coating application of liquid, optionally foamed substances, through a slot the parts of the device performing the application are arranged to form a surface almost plan-parallel to the surface of the sheet material to be subjected to the application so that the trailing end of the application device is supported by the sheet material. Between the application device and the surface to be coated, a hydraulic pressure is generated which floatingly supports the device and which has a uniformizing effect on the application layer.

摘要: A fluid nozzle assembly is disclosed for dispensing liquid dye onto an underlying fabric in a substantially closed structure provided with an inert gas atmosphere. The assembly includes an elongated rotatable housing provided along its length with a relatively narrow opening or slot. An elongated manifold, provided with a plurality of laterally spaced dispensing nozzles, is concentrically mounted within the housing so that the nozzles are aligned with the slot. The housing and manifold are rotatable from a first operative position where the nozzles are in communication with the interior of the structure, to a second inoperative position where the nozzles are substantially isolated from the interior of the structure so that the nozzles may be removed for maintenance, cleaning or replacement without significant loss of inert gas from the interior of the structure. In an alternative embodiment, a fixed, cylindrical housing is mounted exteriorly and concentrically with respect to the rotatable housing and, when the rotatable housing is rotated to an inoperative position, the manifold may be slidably removed through an end wall of the fixed housing.

摘要: A method for reducing broken fibers on the surface of a carbon fiber bundle involves passing the yarn past a suction nozzle having an extended trailing edge which impacts the broken fibers as they pass the slot breaking off the fibers. The broken fibers are transported to a disposal station. The differential in elevation of the leading and trailing edges of the intake slot of the nozzle provide an exposed impacting edge.

摘要: A device is provided for uniformly appyling foam onto textiles. The applicator includes a pair of concentric pipes dimensioned to define a space between the pipes which is filled with a porous material. The inner pipe is provided with at least one longitudinally extending slit angularly offset with respect to a longitudinally extending discharge slit in the outer pipe. Foam supplied to the inner pipe passes through its slit(s), the porous material, and the discharge slit of the outer pipe so as to be deposited on the textile material.
