摘要： A key striking force sensor suitable for player pianos.This sensor contains a displacement sensor for measuring displacement between the displacement sensor itself and a catcher which rocks together with a hammer. As the positions of the catchers corresponding to the hammer respectively are almost the same, plural of the displacement sensors can be mounted on a common circuit board. Accordingly, mechanical construction thereof is comparatively simpler than that of conventional player pianos.

摘要： In a piano a panel, which takes the place of the usual cast iron string plate or frame, is provided for supporting the strings. The panel is a sandwich construction making it exceptionally strong and capable of withstanding the string loads without bending or otherwise yielding and without requiring auxiliary support such as the massive wooden backs or trusses to which cast iron string plates are usually attached. The string panel has a relatively thick low modulus of elasticity core layer, a portion of which is made of laminated hard wood to serve as a pin block, and relatively thin layers of high modulus of elasticity material, such as steel, bonded to the core layer. If desired the string panel may be used as the main frame of the piano to which other major components, such as the soundboard, key bed, side cheeks, housing and feet, are directly attached.

摘要： A hammer strike line adjuster for use with a grand piano comprises a metallic, generally U-shaped bracket, a worm gear rotatably received within a pair of aligned apertures formed in the side walls of the bracket and a shift pin having a first end secured to the piano key frame assembly and a second end engaging an annular recessed portion of the worm gear for movement together therewith. The apparatus, which is disposed between the piano key frame assembly and treble arm and underlying the piano key block, is operative for accurately adjusting the position of the piano hammer strike line in response to rotation of the worm gear.

摘要： In a piano action, a damper lever, pivoted intermediate thereof and with its damper biased toward the string, has a tab portion extending in the side opposite to the damper side. A sostenuto block, rotatably supported beside the tab portion, has a lip portion rotatable against a biasing force and resting on a stop. The rotation of the block causes the lip portion to come near and away from the tab portion. When the block is rotated while the damper is brought away from the string upon depression of the key, the lip portion catches the tab portion and prevents the damper from coming into contact with the string even after release of the depressed key so long as the block is in a rotated position, thus permitting the string struck by the hammer to continue its vibration so that a sustaining tone is obtained. A plurality of such sustenuto blocks for a plurality of damper levers are fixed to a transversely extending rockable rail, so that the rail rotates all of the blocks at one time. When the damper levers other than the one which the lip portion has caught are to be rotated while all of the blocks are in rotated position, the damper levers to be rotated are permitted their rotation by their tab portions pushing and rotating the corresponding lip portions against the biasing force imparted thereto.

摘要： An attachment for a grand piano has a flexible strip secured on a shaft which is mountable rotatably underneath the strings of the piano. The strip and shaft can be turned by a linkage means terminating in a control knob at the front of the piano. In one position of the strip it is interposed between the hammers and strings to modify the tone of the piano and in a second position it is out of the way of the hammers. The tone can be modified to sound like a harpsichord or it can be muffled completely depending on the material of the strip.
