According to the invention the terminals on the back-up battery are connected to a contact adapted to the contact for the battery charger on the electronic device, with the result that when it is connected to the electronic device's battery charger contact the back-up battery will charge the electronic device's rechargeable battery, thereby providing increased service life for the electronic device.

    摘要: An apparatus for connection of a rapid charging system to an electric vehicle includes a connector plug that is attached to an electrical cable at one end that is, in turn, connected to a charging system at the remaining end of the cable. The connector plug is adapted to fit into a mating receptacle that is attached to the electric vehicle. A pair of cavities in the connector plug are adapted to receive any combination of modules that include switches, lights, or blank filler plugs. The connector plug is preferably molded from rubber. Various contacts are described having high current, or signal, or pilot functions and which mate with various length pins in the mating receptacle so as to sequence the order in which electrical conductivity is attained. Temperature sensing of the connector and shutdown subsequent to an over-temperature condition is described and allows for the use of smaller sized electrical connectors.

    摘要: A battery casing includes a battery seat, a hinged cover and an ejector member. The battery seat has a base wall and a surrounding wall unit which cooperatively form a battery chamber with a top opening. The hinged cover has a top wall and a side wall extending downwardly from the top wall and having a lower hinge end portion which is disposed adjacent to the surrounding wall unit and externally of the battery chamber, and which is mounted pivotally to the battery seat for pivoting about a horizontal pivot axis so as to be movable between open and closed positions. The ejector member is disposed on the surrounding wall unit, and has a first end portion extending into the battery chamber, and a second end portion opposite to the first end portion and extending out of the battery chamber. The second end portion of the ejector member engages the side wall of the hinged cover. When the hinged cover is moved to an open position, the second end portion of the ejector member moves with the side wall of the hinged cover so as to cause corresponding upward movement of the first end portion of the ejector member away from the base wall, thereby enabling the ejector member to eject the battery from the battery chamber.

    摘要: End caps for a battery pack. The end caps have opposing flanges for securing therebetween batteries. At the lateral edges of the flanges, a space is provided for at least a portion of a battery being secured in the pack to protrude outwardly, so that the battery pack is secured without extra width for the end caps. The end caps are compressively engaged to make electrical connection with the terminals of the uppermost and the lowermost batteries. A strapping tape is utilized for wrapping the battery pack around a longitudinal exist to tightly compress batteries between the end caps. The tape is covered by and further compressed with a tightly compressing shrink wrap material.
