    摘要: An improved leg shear for use in slaughterhouses includes a movable blade supported in opposed tracks throughout its travel, such movable blade having flat "stop" portions at opposite ends of its cutting edge which, at the end of the travel of the movable blade in its cutting direction, engages an adjustably fixed spacer plate carried in the frame to provide a positive stop for the movable blade, the shear including, in addition, a fixed blade supported by the frame of the shear and sloped with respect to the movable blade to provide a scissorlike shearing of the object to be cut.

    摘要: A lightweight, fluid-powered, portable rescue cutter tool for applying a high magnitude cutting force is disclosed comprising a body having a longitudinal axis including a fluid cylinder and a forward end structure, and a pair of cutting blades pivotally connected to the forward end structure. Fluid-actuated force means are movable along the longitudinal axis of the body and linking means, asymmetrically secured to the cutting blades and interconnecting the fluid actuated force means with the cutting blades, are utilized for pivoting the cutting blades between non-cutting open and closed cutting positions. Handles are provided for manipulating and supporting the rescue cutter tool and control means are provided adjacent one of the handles for controlling the fluid-actuated force means to pivot the cutting blades between non-cutting and cutting positions as desired.

    摘要: An improved tool is disclosed for use in cleaving fiber optic elements preparatory to a splice for joining of two such fiber optic elements. The improved tool comprises support means having a longitudinal axis for supporting the fiber optic element therealong, grooving means for forming a groove in the surface of the fiber optic element, engagement causing means for causing engagement of the grooving means with the fiber optic element, and mounting means for mounting the grooving means to revolve about the longitudinal axis of the support means to circumferentially groove a fiber optic element about its entire circumference. The engagement causing means is movable between a first position in which the grooving means is adapted to engage the fiber optic element and a second position in which the grooving means is adapted to be spaced from the fiber optic element. Also, the engagement causing means is normally biased towards the first position.

    摘要: A shearing cutting tool that may be either hand or machine operated. The tool includes an upper blade, a lower blade, a device for moving at least one of the blades with respect to the other blade, an arm mounting the lower blade below a sheet of material to be cut, and a ball bearing mounted on the arm. The ball bearing has a portion thereof extending upwardly from the arm, and is mounted adjacent the trailing edge of the lower blade for engaging the bottom surface of a sheet to be cut. The ball bearing allows easier pivoting of the cutting tool during cutting to change the direction of cutting.

    摘要: The present wire cutting device, intended for cutting bomb wires, has a barrel with a wire-receiving slot which is open at one side of the barrel. A blunt-faced dielectric piston in the barrel is explosively actuated to sever from the wire the complete length of the wire segment extending across the barrel at its wire-receiving slot. The explosion gases escape through the slot behind the piston and blow the severed ends of the wire away from the barrel and away from each other. Different explosive attachments are provided for detachable connection to the barrel to provide a manually-initiated percussive charge or a time fuse-initiated charge or an electrically-initiated charge.

    摘要: An open system fluid driven pruner, which can readily be converted for use as a closed system pruner, wherein only that magnitude of pressure required to cut a given tree limb or the like is generated, and whereby, once the work stroke has been completed, no pressure is exerted upon the pruner. The preferred pruner is reversible, so that displacement of the cutting blade may occur in either direction, depending upon whether a given embodiment is a standard pruner or a hook pruner, and comprises a valve housing for applying fluid under pressure against a piston, displacement of which pivots the pruner cutting blade against an anvil, the blade and anvil being carried upon an extension which allows cutting of hard to reach limbs. Once the piston has completed the work stroke it functions as a valve, releasing blade-actuating pressure.
