Abstract:
Slices are cut from workpieces during a sequence of cut-off operations by a wire saw, having a wire array. The wire array is tensioned in a plane between two wire guide rollers supported between fixed and floating bearings. During each cut-off operation, a workpiece is fed through the wire array perpendicular to a workpiece axis and the wire array plane. The workpiece is fed with simultaneous axial movement of the floating bearings by adjusting a temperature of the fixed bearings in correlation with a first correction profile, which specifies a travel of the floating bearings in dependence on the depth of cut. In dependence on the depth of cut, operating parameters are set, such as the feed rate, an amount of working fluid fed to the wire array per unit time, a temperature of the working fluid, a wire speed, a wire consumption per cut-off operation, or a wire tension.
Abstract:
A wire saw for cutting pipe is provided including a saddle forming a saddle surface for abutting against a cylindrical pipe, an elongate guide fixed to the saddle, a bow having a first and second end, a bridge portion joining the first and second ends, and an open end having a length L from the first end to the second end which is greater than a diameter D of the pipe, a wire loop movable along a track formed within the bow, and a cooling system for actively cooling the wire loop. The elongate guide has an axis approximately perpendicular to an axis of the pipe when the pipe is abutting against the saddle. An exposed portion of the wire loop extends across the open end. The bow is moveable on the elongate guide toward and away from the pipe when the pipe is abutting against the saddle.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a bandsaw cutting apparatus including an actuator configured to move static pressure pads forward and backward in a rotating direction of a blade, and a controller configured to control a movement distance and a movement speed of the static pressure pads to be moved by the actuator, wherein the ingot is cut by feeding the blade relatively downward toward and below the ingot while a rotating blade is guided with static pressure pads, and the movement of the static pressure pads is controlled with the controller. The apparatus can stably suppress a displacement of the blade during cutting, thereby cutting the ingot into blocks or sample wafers for crystal quality evaluation stably with good quality cut surface at a higher cutting rate and extending the lifetime of the blade.
Abstract:
A saw arrangement that includes two elongated guides and a blade chuck including two guide receptacles that cooperate with the elongated guides. A blade is coupled to the blade chuck and a rotary motor including a drive block and an arm coupled to the blade chuck and the drive block drive the blade during use of the saw arrangement. The blade is generally a circular blade shaped as a wire, thereby allowing for inside cuts on a work piece to be performed.
Abstract:
The vertical blade saw assembly for ceramic and masonry materials is designed to provide an assembly that allows the user to make cuts of any shape to ceramic tiles and masonry materials in order to permit the installation of precision cuts for a particular setting. The assembly has an electric drive motor that is protected from the coolant used to keep the blade from overheating. The assembly has a plurality of parallel arms that are connected and permit the oscillating motion of the arms. The vertical blade is connected to the arms which place the blade in motion. The assembly has a base unit to provide support for the assembly. A coolant tray is positioned around the base unit. A water pump and accompanying tubing is used to circulate the coolant to the blade. Several cutting blades are also disclosed.
Abstract:
In an automatically controlled cutting machine for cutting thick layups of sheet material, apparatus is provided to dispense a liquid fluid onto the tool for cooling, lubricating or other ancillary functions. The apparatus includes a presser foot which rides on top of the sheet material during a cutting operation and the presser foot permits liquid to flow to the reciprocating blade whenever the blade is cutting through the sheet material. A liquid absorbing material in the presser foot insures that the cutting portion of the blade receives the liquid.
Abstract:
A machine for cutting slots into stone. An arbor frame having cutting cylinders rotatably mounted along its edge is pivotally mounted to a carriage movably mounted on a rail. A motor is mounted on the frame and is operable to rotate the cutting cylinders. A second motor and converter mechanism is mounted on the carriage and is operable to reciprocate the arbor with respect to the carriage. Water pipes and suction pipes are mounted to the frame to wash the cutting cylinders and remove the slush formed thereby. Rollers are also mounted to the frame for abutting the sides of the stone slot. One of the cutting cylinders is spring loaded being mountable to the bottom of the arbor.
