摘要: A knockdown, portable lift is relatively compact and lightweight for transport and use where there is no existing means for lifting a load between a lower surface and an upper surface or where the existing means cannot be used. Components of the lift are stored in a base portion of the lift and are assembled on site for forming a lift frame extending between the upper and lower surfaces. A platform and drive assembly are supported on the lift frame and are driven together up and down tracks on each side of the lift frame using a rotary drive, such as a hand crank or electric motor, to power the drive assembly. The drive assembly is operable by a person on or off the platform from either the upper or lower surface or traversing stairs over which the platform is moving. The drive assembly incorporates a unique overspeed braking system and a unique clutch arrangement.

摘要: An elevator system permitting horizontal movement of a normally vertically moving elevator cabin, the elevator cabin being automatically attached to or detached from an elevator frame and horizontally moved to or from another elevator shaft or other destination. While an elevator cabin is supported on an elevator frame or other surface, various cables, rods, plugs and other equipment are automatically connected to or disconnected from the elevator cabin to enable vertical or horizontal motion of the elevator cabin. Once disconnected from such devices, the elevator cabin can be propelled horizontally out of the elevator frame and elevator shaft, onto other surfaces, such as floors of a building, and move horizontally to another destination. An elevator cabin may also be horizontally moved into an elevator shaft and onto the surface of an elevator frame, and connected to the frame, thus enabling such cabin to then move vertically within an elevator shaft.

摘要: A lift device includes a lifting mast having a top, and a drive assembly for moving the lifting mast in lifting and lowering directions. A head is positioned above and over the top of the lifting mast, and is mounted to the lifting mast for displacement between a neutral position and a safe position with respect to the lifting mast in response to the head contact encountering an object above the top of the lifting mast and the head. The drive assembly is enabled for moving of the lifting mast in the lifting and lowering directions in the neutral position of the head, the drive assembly is enabled for moving the lifting mast in the lowering direction in the safe position of the head, and the drive assembly is disabled for moving the lifting mast in the lifting direction in the safe position of the head.
