摘要: A method and apparatus use conductivity to control the dosing of various chemical additives used in the water treatment industry by modulating the chemical additives within threshold setpoints. Conductivity directly correlates to concentration of chemical additives. This correlation is used to modulate the dosing rates of chemical additives into a process water stream to consistently regulate and balance chemical additive concentration within the process water stream. For example, the method and apparatus dose chlorine dioxide precursor solutions into a process water stream to generate a consistent concentration of aqueous chlorine dioxide.

摘要: A system and method for monitoring or detecting a level of biofilm growth in a fluid system and controlling operating parameters of the fluid system based a measured level of growth. The monitoring system and method comprises a dye injection system for periodically injecting dye into a portion of fluid from the fluid system, passing the portion of fluid though a narrow lumen tube to achieve laminar flow and using a light source and optical sensor to detect a transmission or emission indicating a level of biofilm growth in the tube corresponding to a level of growth on components in the fluid system. Information based upon the measurements or calculations made by the monitoring system may be used to manually or automatically alter various operating parameters to control the fluid system and aid in maintaining stable operation of the fluid system within preferred specifications.

摘要: The present disclosure is directed to a sanitizing composition for dispensing into aquatic systems. The sanitizing composition contains a sanitizing agent containing water molecules that have been bound within the composition by a water binder. In one embodiment, the sanitizing agent is a polybiguanide salt and the water binder is an anhydrous salt. The resulting composition can be a solid that can be packaged in water degradable or water soluble packages for ease of handling and dispensing.

摘要: Systems and methods for separating organic chloramines and inorganic chloramines from an aqueous solution. Such a method includes providing a first container containing an aqueous solution that includes organic and inorganic chloramines and free chlorine, providing a second container containing a trapping solution and a tubular hydrophobic membrane through which inorganic chloramines contained in the aqueous solution can diffuse into the trapping solution, pumping the aqueous solution from the first container through the tubular hydrophobic membrane of the second container; and collecting the aqueous solution pumped through the tubular hydrophobic membrane in a third container connected to the tubular hydrophobic membrane. After pumping is completed, the second container contains an aqueous solution containing the inorganic chloramines and the third container contains an aqueous solution containing the organic chloramines and the free chlorine.

摘要: Disclosed herein are the methods of using specific di-cationic or multiple charged cationic compounds, which are derived from primary amine or polyamines through an aza-Michael addition with an α,β-unsaturated carbonyl compound or from polyamines through both an aza-Michael addition with an α,β-unsaturated carbonyl compound and a ring-opening reaction with an epoxide, in a fouling control composition to reduce microbial and/biofilm growth in a water system. The disclosed methods or compositions are found to be more effective than those methods or compositions including commonly used single quaternary compounds for reducing microbial or biofilm growth in water systems.
