    摘要: The present invention relates to a secure barrier for an underground valve box. The device may have a bolt and a nut for adjusting the length of the bolt to position curved plates to press against the inner circumference of a cylindrical valve box. The bolt housing may include a flange that protrudes through a slot in a horizontal metal plate. The plate may have handles for ease of lifting and replacement of the plate. The protruding flange may feature a hole for insertion of a padlock. When the padlock is secured, the plate cannot be removed from the cylindrical valve box as the adjustable bolt housing cannot move sufficiently to retract the curved plates from the inner cylindrical surface of the valve box. Thus, only authorized personnel with the proper padlock key or combination can operate the valve, deterring vandals.

    摘要: Coverings for structures which can be installed in the ground are known. For example, these are drainage channels or manholes. In order to lock the covering on the structure, closures are known which comprise a snap bolt which is designed in such a way and is mounted movably on the covering (20) against the force of a spring device in such a way that, during closing of the covering (20), the snap bolt is forced back and snaps in behind a counterbearing (14, 14′) fixed to the structure in a closure position. To simplify the arrangement and also to improve durability, it is proposed that the snap bolt is mounted in a housing (40) which can be fastened in a housing receptacle of the covering (20).

The system includes a manhole having an access hole; a seating receptacle positioned adjacent to the access hole of the manhole. The seating receptacle includes an outer flange, a vertical wall extending downward at a substantially right angle from the outer flange, and a seat positioned at a substantially right angle adjacent to the vertical wall. The system also includes a coiled manhole cover cushion comprising at least one flat edge on a first side of the manhole cover cushion which may be positioned at the edge of the substantially right angle between the vertical wall and the seat of the seating receptacle. A method of installing a coiled manhole cover cushion is also provided herein.

    摘要: An apparatus for locking an enclosure cover, such as a manhole cover or enclosure lid, in seated engagement on its enclosure frame, includes a lock housing positioned within a lock aperture extending perpendicularly through the top surface of the enclosure cover. A reciprocating, manual throw bolt is inserted within an aperture extending laterally within the enclosure cover between the lock aperture and the side of the enclosure cover for releasable engagement into a receiving aperture within the enclosure frame. When inserted, the lock housing maintains the manual throw bolt in locking engagement with the enclosure frame. The lock housing includes a cylinder cam lock for releasably locking the lock housing in place within the lock aperture. The cylinder cam lock uses conventional keys that can be mastered or zoned. The locking apparatus can be retrofit into existing enclosure covers or included during initial manufacture of such covers.
