摘要: Systems and methods are provided for repurposing discarded asphalt shingles as fill material or structural members in building and land surface constructions. Discarded asphalt shingles (DAS) are placed beneath building foundation slabs and parking lots in overlapping patterns to replace a measured amount of removed soil to serve as fill material. Building block system (BBS) units or repurposed asphalt blocks (RAB), may be produced to facilitate handling and transport of the DAS materials to the construction site. DAS can be utilized beneath parking lots by layering the shingles in overlapping patterns to create a moisture barrier from water intrusion from above or below. Repurposed asphalt materials may further be used in the construction of other types of embankments and ground surface constructions to provide both vertical and horizontal support.

摘要: A reticular structure includes first elements distanced from each other and having an elongated conformation according to a first prevalent development trajectory, and second elements distanced from each other and having an elongated conformation according to a second prevalent development trajectory orthogonal, to the first prevalent development trajectory of the first elements. The first and second elements intersect at nodes to form meshes. The first elements have at a mid-portion defined between two consecutive nodes and orthogonally to the first prevalent development trajectory and a substantially T-shaped section including a base and a protuberance emerging orthogonally from the base. The second elements have, at a mid-portion defined between two immediately consecutive nodes and orthogonally to the second prevalent development path, a respective elongated base joined in a single piece to the base of the first elements to define a bottom surface of the reticular structure opposed to the protuberance of the first elements.

摘要: A multilayer integral geogrid, including one or more cellular layers, has a plurality of oriented multilayer strands interconnected by partially oriented multilayer junctions with an array of openings therein. The multilayer integral geogrid having one or more cellular layers is produced from a coextruded or laminated multilayer polymer starting sheet. The integral geogrid has a multilayer construction, with at least one outer layer thereof having the cellular structure. By virtue of the cellular layer structure, the multilayer integral geogrid provides for increased layer vertical compressibility under load, resulting in enhanced material properties that provide performance benefits to use of the multilayer integral geogrid to stabilize and strengthen soil, aggregates, or other particulate materials.

摘要: The present disclosure relates to a prop (10) comprising a first tube (14) and a second tube (16). The first tube (14) is telescopically connected to the second tube (16) for axially displacing the second tube (16) between a retracted position and an extended position. The first and second tubes (14, 16) each comprise a loading end for receiving an axial load from opposing load surfaces (62, 64) in the extended position. The first tube (14) and the second tube (16) are made from a plastics material.

摘要: Systems and methods for soil improvement foundation isolation and load spreading are provided. The systems and methods provided herein relate to isolation of structural foundations from soil improvement elements and distributing stress from high stiffness elements to lower stiffness materials. A shear load transfer reduction system may include one or more ground improvement elements for supporting an applied load. A shear break element may be positioned above one or more ground improvement elements. The shear break elements may be configured to have low interface shear strength. Further, systems and methods are provided for creating an engineered slip surface for reducing shear stresses between a laterally loaded foundation and a rigid foundation support element and wherein two slip pads are provided that form the engineered slip surface.

摘要: A building element for coupling with other building elements to erect a retaining wall. Optionally, the building element can have a modular construction. The building element can have a face panel and a beam member that extends substantially perpendicularly relative to the face panel. The building elements can have a variety of different configurations, providing flexibility in the design of retaining walls. Optionally, each building element can define alignment voids that receive portions of alignment posts for ensuring vertical alignment between adjacent building elements or portions of building elements.
