Abstract: A surface cleaning apparatus and a method for preventing overheating in a surface cleaning apparatus. The surface cleaning apparatus has an air flow path, an air treatment member provided in the air flow path, and a motor and fan assembly provided in the air flow path. An operating temperature of the suction motor is monitored while the surface cleaning apparatus is operational. When the temperature reaches a predetermined level, an overheat prevention response is automatically initiated. The overheat prevention response is defined to prevent further overheating of the suction motor. The overheat prevention response can include an indication that the surface cleaning apparatus should be cleaned or emptied. A bleed valve can be opened to permit additional motor cooling air to enter. This can allow the user to continue operating the surface cleaning apparatus with the desired suction power while mitigating the risk of suction motor burn out.

Abstract: An air fryer comprises an air flow passage provided between an inner shell and an outer shell; a first cooking chamber having a first cooking fan in air flow communication with the first cooking chamber and a first heating element in thermal communication with the first cooking chamber. A cooling fan, when actuated, circulates air within the airflow passage. A common motor is drivingly connected to each of the cooking fan and the cooling fan, wherein a first axle portion drivingly connects the common motor to the cooking fan, a second axle portion drivingly connects the common motor to the cooling fan and, when the air fryer is positioned with the bottom on a horizontal surface, the first axle portion extends upwardly from an upper side of the common motor and the second axle portion extends downwardly from a lower side of the common motor.
