摘要: Embodiments of a method and apparatus of identifying optical disk types according to the present invention can identify the type of an optical disk (e.g., DVD-RAM, DVD-RAM, or DVD+/−RW) based on comparisons between a plurality of signals. For example, comparisons between the magnitudes of DPD and DPP tracking error signals and their respective reference values can be used. If an optical disk is identified as DVD+RW or DVD−RW, embodiments according to the present invention can further determine whether the optical disk is DVD+RW or DVD−RW. For example, the frequency of a wobble signal resulting from the shape of tracks formed on the optical disk and variables that affect the wobble frequency (e.g., the rotational speed of the optical disk and the current track position) can be used.

摘要: The present invention relates to a recording speed determining method of a disk device. The present method, when data record is requested from a host through an interface, a disk device can receive size information about data to be recorded and/or the present time from the host, and determine a recording speed of a disk to be suitable for the received size information and/or for a time zone where the device is located. The disk device can determine such data size and time zone information internally. Thus, it is possible to reduce a noise that is caused from disk rotation if the size of data to be recorded is small or when a noise is felt relatively big. Further, it is possible to determine a data recording speed in accordance with a data size.

摘要: The present invention relates to a method for controlling recording optical power. When a recording operation is paused, a playback signal characteristic for recorded data is detected. The recording optical power is controlled based upon the detected playback signal characteristic and hence the recording operation is resumed at the controlled recording optical power. Therefore, even though a characteristic of an optical pickup or disc varies when the recording operation is paused and resumed, an optimum recording operation can be performed and a playback characteristic for recorded data can be improved.

摘要: The present invention relates to method and apparatus of measuring axial vibration of a rotating disk. The present axial vibration measuring method selects a plurality of equally-spaced (45°˜120°-spaced) angular positions of a disk recording medium to conduct focusing operation at, conducts focusing operation at each selected position, measures focusing time from each start of the focusing operation to exactness in focus, and calculates axial vibration of the disk recording medium based on a deviation of the measured focusing times. The present method can measure exactly how much a rotating disk vibrates axially.

摘要: The method for transmitting power wirelessly according to an embodiment may comprise checking a position of a receiving device while wirelessly transmitting power to the receiving device, and changing a charging stop level which is compared with power loss which corresponds to a difference between transmitted power transmitted to the receiving device and received power received by the receiving device when the receiving device is outside a charging area. The receiving device is outside the charging area may be determined based on that the received power is equal to or greater than reference power and a power control level when transmitting the power to the receiving device is equal to or greater than a reference value. The charging stop level may be returned to an original value when the power loss is lower than the changed charging stop level until a predetermined time elapses after changing the charging stop level.

摘要: The present invention provides a sensor combining a dust sensor and a gas sensor, comprising a light emitting unit for emitting light, a first light receiving unit for receiving scattered light which is emitted by the light emitting unit and scattered by dust to detect dust concentration, a mirror for changing a path of the emitted light which the light emitting unit emits, and a second light receiving unit for receiving the emitted light the path of which is changed by the mirror to detect gas concentration. An inflow section for introducing air into a detection space inside the sensor is formed in a Y-shaped tube in which a first inlet and a second inlet meet. The inflow section comprises a switch which selects a path through which air flows into the detection space out of the first inlet and the second inlet.
