Abstract: An apparatus and method for producing an absorbent sanitary article including a forming surface at least partially permeable to air configured to move along a moving direction between first, second, and third successive forming positions. The apparatus includes a first, second, and third supply ducts for delivering loose absorbent material onto the forming surface at the first, second, and third forming positions, respectively. The apparatus further includes a first suction chamber opposite to the first supply duct with respect to the forming surface and arranged at the first forming position, a second suction chamber opposite to the second supply duct and arranged at the second forming position, and a third suction chamber opposite to the third supply duct at the third forming position. The first, second, and third suction chambers are open on the forming surface and configured to exert a suction through the forming surface.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for depositing discrete elements on a support element. The discrete elements may be separated from each other or joined to form a continuous web. The discrete elements are fed into a pick-up station defined at a rotor which includes circumferentially adjacent pick-up members.
