Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for preventing or reducing deposits in pulp and paper making processes by including a cyclodextrin during or after pulp formation in an amount effective for preventing or reducing the deposits. Optionally the cyclodextrin comprising the deposit is subsequently separated from the pulp.
Abstract:
Methods for inhibiting chlorine dioxide associated corrosion in industrial equipment by treating industrial equipment (e.g., pipes, washers and other metallic, e.g., stainless steel surfaces) or process streams in contact with industrial equipment with one or more haloperoxidases, preferably, a chloroperoxidase, in an amount effective to reduce chlorine dioxide associated corrosion.
Abstract:
A thin switch plate assembly for covering and mounting switches includes of a face plate attached to a base plate by a snap-fit connection to provide a screwless appearance.

Abstract:
The invention relates to processes for treating a pulp, and for making a paper material such as paper, cardboard, linerboard, corrugated paperboard, tissue, towels, corrugated containers, boxes etc., these processes comprising an alkaline treatment of a pulp, a treatment with a pectin lyase and/or a pectate lyase, and, if desired, a draining of the pulp. Pectate lyase in combination with pectinesterase may be substituted for pectin lyase. The invention also relates to the use of xylanase, pectin lyase, pectate lyase, and/or the combination of pectate lyase with pectinesterase for anionic trash reduction and/or reduction of cationic demand of a paper pulp.
Abstract:
Methods for reducing energy required for a pulp refining processes by treating a mechanical pulp with a hemicellulase composition are presented. The enzymatic treatment can be carried out at a temperature of from about 10° C. to about 90° C., and/or at a pH of from about 2 to about 10. Paper made from the treated pulp has improved strength over paper made from untreated pulp.
Abstract:
A method for determining thermal characteristics of a geological formation from observations of temperature relaxation in a formation after a temperature perturbation, such as that resulting from circulation of drilling mud. A method of determining petrophysical properties from these thermal characteristics. A method of determining thermal characteristics from petrophysical properties.
Abstract:
The disclosure claims a lumbar interbody fusion cage for treating lumbar spondylolisthesis via a lateral approach. The lumbar interbody fusion cage comprises a supporting frame body, wherein upper and lower blades are mounted on the upper and lower end surfaces of the supporting frame body, a distracting component for driving the upper and lower blades to axially distract along a lumbar interbody and an orthotopic moving component for driving the upper and lower blades to move along the lumbar interbody back and forth are mounted in the supporting frame body, the upper and lower blades respectively extend to form lateral lobes, fixing holes through which fixing nails penetrate are formed on the lateral lobes, the fixing nail of the upper lateral lobe penetrates backward from bottom to top in a slanting way to give a certain rear thrust to the slipped lumbar vertebrae and help reduction of the lumbar spondylolisthesis, and the fixing nailing of the lower lateral lobe penetrates forward from top to bottom to give a forward thrust to the lumbar vertebrae and help the reduction of the lumbar spondylolisthesis. The lumbar interbody fusion cage can solve both an intervertebral spacing and dislocation arisen from forward and backward lumbar spondylolisthesis, has easy operation and small pain to patients, and is safer and more reliable.
