摘要: This disclosure includes wound dressings and systems for effluent management of topical wound therapy and related methods. Some devices, which are configured to dilute therapeutic gas effluent flowing from a dressing, comprise a therapeutic gas source configured to provide therapeutic gas to the dressing; a container comprising a sidewall that defines a chamber configured to receive therapeutic gas effluent from the dressing; a negative pressure source configured to be coupled to the container such that the negative pressure source can be activated to draw fluid from the dressing through the chamber of the container; and a diluent gas source configured to deliver a diluent gas to dilute therapeutic gas effluent before the therapeutic gas effluent enters the negative pressure source.

摘要: Systems, methods, and apparatuses for increasing liquid absorption are described. Some embodiments may include a dressing having an absorbent layer containing super-absorbent material as well as ionic-exchange media (IEM). In some embodiments, the absorbent layer may include absorbent fibers. The absorbent fibers may each include a super-absorbent core surrounded by a water-permeable layer onto which ionic-exchange media (IEM) may be grafted. As liquid comes into contact with the IEM, its ionic nature may be reduced, therefore protecting the absorbent qualities of the super-absorbent material.

摘要: A wound therapy system includes a canister configured to contain fluid removed from a wound site, a primary conduit having a first end coupled to the canister and a second end coupled to the wound site, and a pump fluidly coupled to the wound site via the primary conduit. The pump is configured to apply negative pressure to the wound site via the primary conduit. The system includes a pressure indicator configured to indicate a negative pressure at the pressure indicator and a secondary conduit having a first end coupled to the pressure indicator and a second end coupled to the wound site such that the negative pressure at the wound site is fluidly transmitted to the pressure indicator via the secondary conduit. A blockage in the primary conduit causes the negative pressure indicated by the pressure indicator to differ from the negative pressure applied by the pump.
