Abstract: Embodiments include methods (and related systems, devices, and apparatuses) for determining a sorption separation factor for a binary gas mixture by applying a magnetic field to at least a portion of a sorbent (604) disposed in a chamber of a magnetic susceptibility device; directing a first gas stream including a first gas compound into the chamber at a first pressure and temperature to obtain a first magnetic susceptibility measurement; directing a second gas stream including a second gas compound into the chamber at a second pressure and temperature to obtain a second magnetic susceptibility measurement; directing a binary gas mixture including the first gas compound and the second gas compound into the chamber at a third pressure and temperature to obtain a third magnetic susceptibility measurement; and determining a sorption separation factor based on the first, the second, and the third magnetic susceptibility measurements.

Abstract: An ophthalmic lens configured to treat color vision deficiency is presented herein. The lens includes a tinted region containing either or both of a first dye that is configured to absorb at least 50% of incident light in a spectral band between 480 nanometers to 500 nanometers and a second dye that is configured to absorb at least 50% of incident light in a spectral band between 550 nanometers to 580 nanometers. A method of manufacturing such a lens and a process of forming set of eyeglasses by an additive manufacturing process is also presented.

Abstract: A system for performing analog multiply-and-accumulate (MAC) operations employs at least one cross coupling capacitor processing unit (C3PU). A system includes a wordline to which an analog input voltage is applied, a voltage supply line having a supply voltage (VDD), a bitline, a clock signal line, a current integrator op-amp connected to the bitline and to the clock signal line, and a C3PU connected to the wordline. The C3PU includes a CMOS transistor and a capacitive unit. The capacitive unit includes a cross coupling capacitor and a gate capacitor. The cross coupling capacitor is connected between the wordline and the gate terminal of the CMOS transistor. The gate capacitor is connected between the gate terminal and ground. The CMOS transistor is configured to conduct a current that is proportional to voltage applied to the gate terminal.

Abstract: This invention relates to methods and systems for searching. It is particularly applicable to methods of searching which enable efficient identification of compatible portfolios. Embodiments of the invention propose methods of searching which address the huge search space issue associated with identifying compatible portfolios. In particular, embodiments of the invention start their search operations simultaneously from both sides by both trying to form valid portfolios from candidate products until a valid solution is found and trying to find conflicts from the defined compatibility rules until a conflict is found which leads to the conclusion that no valid solution exists. A conclusion from either process will stop the whole searching process which can significantly reduce blind and unnecessary searching in the whole search space. In embodiments of the invention, the two sides of the search process are also connected in a way which permits two-way communications between the processes to share information about invalid search branches during the execution of the search. The shared information is then used to direct the current and later stage of search execution. Such exchange of information can also significantly reduce the search space and create more efficient searching systems and methods, particularly by stopping search agents from carrying out invalid future searches in branches that another agent has already identified as invalid.
