Abstract:
A method and apparatus are provided for transmitting user equipment (UE) status information in communication with one serving Node B and at least one non-serving Node B in a mobile communication system. The method and apparatus comprise generating transport channel data including UE status information; transmitting the transport channel data to the serving Node B and the at least one non-serving Node B, receiving a response signal for the transport channel data from the serving Node B, and retransmitting the transport channel data if the response signal received from the serving Node B is a non-acknowledge (NACK) signal, and ending the retransmission of the transport channel data if the response signal received from the serving Node B is an acknowledge (ACK) signal.
Abstract:
A method of managing radio resources and a Node B implementing the same are provided. If the total radio resources used in a cell exceed target radio resources signaled by an RNC, uplink rates are equally allocated to primary UEs and non-primary UEs by controlling the signal strengths of the primary and non-primary UEs.
Abstract:
An event-processing method and system are provided for efficiently re-delivering notification events stored by a Remote User Interface Server (RUIS), from the RUIS to remote user interface clients (RUICs), in a home network supporting an RUI. An RUIC transmits an information request to the remote user interface server, receives, from the RUIS, notification event information corresponding to the information request, transmits a notification event request based on the received notification event information to the RUIS, and receives, from the RUIS, at least one notification event corresponding to the notification event request.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus is provided for defining and transmitting/receiving a presentation fragment including therein a requirement for a scheme of displaying an Electronic Service Guide (ESG) in a digital broadcast system. The transmission method includes generating a presentation fragment including therein a requirement for terminal presentation; inputting the presentation fragment including therein a requirement for terminal presentation to an ESG data model through encoding; and transmitting the ESG data model to the terminal. The presentation fragment includes ESG's display control information at the terminal.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for selectively combining broadcast data packets from a plurality of cells in a user equipment (UE). A selective combiner stores a received broadcast data packet in a buffer if a sequence number of the broadcast data packet received from the plurality of cells does not fall within a reception window, and stores the received broadcast data packet in the buffer if a sequence number of the received broadcast data packet falls within the reception window but has not been stored in the buffer. The selective combiner updates the reception window if a sequence number of the received broadcast data packet does not fall within the reception window, and discards the received broadcast data packet if a sequence number of the received broadcast data packet falls within the reception window but has been stored in the buffer.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for providing multimedia broadcast and multicast services in a CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) mobile communication system. The apparatus and method enable a common MBMC (Multimedia Broadcast/Multicast Control) layer to be allocated between a plurality of cells, enable MBMC layers to be classified on the basis of types of services, and use the classified MBMC layers. That is, individual MBMC layers do not have to store large-capacity data because a unique service or transmission rate in each of cells is based on a slow rate, and the individual MBMC layers corresponding to respective cells process a service requiring complex scheduling. Moreover, the apparatus and method enable the same information to be provided to a plurality of cells and enable a streaming-type service to be processed in a common MBMC layer commonly used in the cells. The apparatus and method can not only reduce an overhead of storage and processing devices but also minimize a time difference between broadcast and multicast timings of different cells, by enabling the common MBMC layer to commonly process MBMS information for the plurality of cells.
Abstract:
A method of providing a point-to-point multicast service for transmitting data from a network element to a plurality of terminals in a communication system. The method includes transmitting a first message including service available information from the network element to the plurality of terminals, and transmitting a second message including radio bearer information from the network element to the plurality of terminals. The first message includes a pointer to the radio bearer information.
Abstract:
A method of signaling bearer connection on Iu interface for MBMS service, includes the following steps: (a) RNC receives a MBMS Notification message for a certain MBMS service from SGSN; (b) RNC constructs a MBMS Service Request message according to the contents of the notification; (c) RNC sends a SCCP Connection Request message to SGSN, requests to establish a SCCP signaling connection, and then waits for a reply; (d) RNC receives a SCCP Connection Confirmation message from SGSN. This invention solves the problem of signaling connection on Iu interface after MBMS service is introduced into the existing mobile communication system. The connection mode provided in this invention can reasonably utilize network resources, effectively reduce signaling congestion on Iu interface and reduce modifications to the existing Iu interface message.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for configuring a TFCS in a mobile communication system are provided. TrCH configuration information and TFCS configuration information are received in a TrCH establishment message from an RNC. A CTFC set including all possible combinations of TFs of different transport channels is calculated according to the TrCH configuration information. A determination is made as to whether the TFCS configuration information includes a TFC-CTFC auto mapping indicator. If the TFCS configuration information includes the TFC-CTFC auto mapping indicator, CTFCs included in the CTFC set are mapped to TFCs in a one-to-one correspondence.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for updating firmware of terminals in a mobile broadcast system including a Broadcast Service Distribution/Adaptation fragment (BSDA) and a Broadcast service Subscription Management (BSM). The method includes requesting creation of a content fragment, by the BSM, by transmitting a firmware package file for a firmware update of the terminals to the BSDA; creating a content fragment including the firmware package file and broadcasting the created content fragment to the terminals by the BSDA; detecting the firmware package file from the received content fragment; and performing the firmware update using the firmware package file.
