    Abstract: An offshore drilling rig comprising a drill floor deck having a hole defining a first well center. The drilling rig may further include a first hoisting system configured for hoisting and lowering tubular equipment through the first well center. The drilling rig may further include first pipe handling equipment for presenting tubular equipment to the first hoisting system so as to allow the first hoisting system to hoist or lower the tubular equipment through the first well center. The drilling rig may include a mounting structure, separate from the first hoisting system for suspending suspendable auxiliary equipment from an elevated position above the drill floor deck, allowing the auxiliary equipment to be lowered or hoisted through the first well center; wherein the mounting structure is movable between a lower position for rigging up auxiliary equipment to the mounting structure, and an elevated position allowing lowering or hoisting of auxiliary equipment suspended from the mounting structure through the first well center.

    Abstract: A flywheel system includes a fixture providing a base and a stator, rotor having a cavity to receive the stator, a generator/motor module having a plurality of permanent magnets mechanically coupled to the rotor and an active magnetic bearing module. The active magnetic bearing module includes a plurality of magnetizable elements mechanically coupled to or integrated in the rotor, and a plurality of electromagnets mechanically coupled to a shaft and configured to magnetically couple with the plurality of first magnetizable elements to actively stabilize the rotor relative to the fixture. The windings of the generator/motor module are arranged around the rotation axis of the rotor at a first distance from the rotation axis of the rotor, the electromagnets of the active magnetic bearing module are arranged around the rotation axis of the rotor at a second distance, and the first distance is greater than or equal to the second distance.

    Abstract: A flywheel system includes a rotor configured to rotate about a rotation axis. The flywheel system further includes a fixture and an active magnetic bearing module for actively stabilizing the rotor relative to the fixture. The active magnetic bearing module includes a plurality of first magnetizable elements mechanically coupled to or integrated in the rotor, and a plurality of electromagnets mechanically coupled to the fixture and configured to magnetically couple with the plurality of first magnetizable elements to actively stabilize the rotor relative to the fixture. Each of the first magnetizable elements is farther than each of the electromagnets from the rotation axis.

    Abstract: A drive-off prevention controller for a dynamic positioning system, the drive off prevention controller being configured to communicate with the dynamic positioning system, wherein the dynamic positioning system is configured to determine a position of a vessel relative to a target position and to control a propulsion system of the vessel based on the determined position of the vessel relative to the target position; and the drive-off prevention controller is configured to, based on one or more indicative conditions, selectively adjust the control of the propulsion system determined by the dynamic positioning system or that would otherwise have been determined by the dynamic positioning system; and at least one of the indicative conditions comprises the demand, or rate of increase in demand, of the propulsion system being greater than a first conditional threshold whilst weather or environmental data received by the drive-off prevention controller indicates that there has been no corresponding change in weather or environmental conditions.
