    摘要: In a blowout preventer body having a central bore a method of reducing the size and weight of the blowout preventer body while maintaining an acceptable stress level at working pressure comprising machining a portion of the blowout preventer body to proximate the final dimensions, pressuring the blowout preventer body to a higher pressure than the working pressure of the blowout preventer body to yield high stress areas of the blowout preventer body, and relieving the higher pressure from the blowout preventer body such that when the blowout preventer body returns to the non-pressured state the high stress areas will retain compressive stresses and when the blowout preventer body is then pressurized to the working pressure of the blowout preventer body the stresses will be at an acceptable stress level.

    摘要: An electric bonnet includes a housing; a guide piston disposed in the housing; an electric motor having a motor shaft; a rear housing connected to the housing; a gearbox assembly disposed in the rear housing, the gearbox assembly being coupled to the motor shaft of the electric motor; and a roller screw assembly disposed in the rear housing. A first end of the roller screw assembly is connected to the gearbox assembly, and a second end of the roller screw assembly is connected to the guide piston. Rotation of the motor shaft of the electric motor transmits rotary motion to the gearbox assembly, which transforms the rotary motion into linear motion using the roller screw assembly. The linear motion of the roller screw assembly actuates the guide piston.

    摘要: A status assembly to provide visual and electronic indication of the position (open, closed, in-between) of the ram of a ram-type blowout preventer (BOP). The assembly is capable of coupling with a hydraulic motor that can be used to open and close the ram locks. The status assembly includes a rotatable element protruding from the BOP, a gear rotatable by the rotatable element, and an indicator that indicates the rotation position of the rotatable element and thus the linear position of the BOP ram. Some embodiments can also include a sensor that outputs an electronic signal to the system operator and can be incorporated into the main display for the BOP control system. This device is able to give immediate feedback to operators and to indicate whether each ram has achieved its intended travel.

One method includes assembling a first perforating gun assembly into a lubricator, connecting the lubricator to a blowout preventer coupled to a wellhead, lowering the first perforating gun assembly on a conveyance into the blowout preventer, engaging the first perforating gun assembly with sealing rams of the blowout preventer, detaching the conveyance from the first perforating gun assembly and removing the conveyance from the blowout preventer, disconnecting the lubricator from the blowout preventer, assembling a second perforating gun assembly into the lubricator, re-connecting the lubricator to the blowout preventer, lowering the second perforating gun assembly into the blowout preventer and attaching the second perforating gun assembly to the first perforating gun assembly, and repeating the process to form a perforating gun string.
