    Abstract: A spark plug wherein both pre-ignition and misfires are suppressed. The spark plug includes a center electrode; a ground electrode; a cylindrical insulator; a metal shell that accommodates the insulator therein; and a cover portion that covers a front end portion of the center electrode and a facing portion of the ground electrode to form a pre-chamber. The insulator includes an outer peripheral surface exposed to the pre-chamber, the cover portion includes a portion exposed to the pre-chamber, and the metal shell includes a portion exposed to the pre-chamber. When a surface area of the outer peripheral surface is a first surface area A (mm2), and a total surface area of the portion of the cover portion and the portion of the metal shell is a second surface area B (mm2), the spark plug satisfies a relational expression 1:0.10

    Abstract: A spark plug that provides an increase in the combustion speed of an engine. The spark plug includes a center electrode, a ground electrode, an insulator, and a cover portion.     Abstract: A sensor element drive circuit is a circuit including a plurality of semiconductor elements formed on a semiconductor substrate for realizing a current control function and a switching function. The current control function is a function of controlling the current flowing between electrodes such that the potential difference between electrodes becomes constant. The switching function is a function for switching between a connected state in which the electrodes are electrically connected to a sensor control apparatus and a cut-off state in which electrical continuity therebetween is broken. When one of an Ip+ terminal, a COM terminal, and a Vs+ terminal is determined to have an anomalous potential, the sensor control apparatus causes the sensor element drive circuit to perform switching from the connected state to the cut-off state, and connects the semiconductor substrate to a negative voltage lower than a ground potential applied to the sensor element drive circuit.

    Abstract: A cutting insert has cutting edges having the same shape and provided at respective corners of a polygon in rotational symmetry about the center axis of the polygon, is clamped in an upright position to a holder, and has a negative side rake angle on a rake face of a side cutting edge. A side cutting edge is present at an intersection ridge between a polygonal face and an outer peripheral face. The outer peripheral face includes a rake face of the cutting edge and a flank of an end cutting edge of another cutting edge different from the side cutting edge. The flank has a positive slope angle in opposition to a negative side rake angle of the side cutting edge. A breaker groove extending in a front-rear direction is formed in the rake face and cuts into the flank, in such a manner as to divide the rake face.
