Abstract:
The present invention is directed towards a dental bur storage device having a plurality of dental bur receiving holes capable of retaining a plurality of different dental bur types having different shank diameters, wherein, each of the plurality of dental bur receiving holes is tapered to allow a retaining fit to be established with any one of the plurality of different dental bur types having different shank diameters. The advantage of using a receiving hole that has a tapered form is that different types of dental burs having different diameters of shanks may be retained by the receiving holes in the dental bur storage device. This allows a wide range of different brands and different types of dental burs to be accommodated on one single dental bur storage device which greatly simplifies the process of selecting a dental bur for a dentist, particularly during a dental treatment. As the receiving hole is tapered, bur shanks of varying dimensions will be received to different depths within the receiving hole to a point where the receiving hole tapers to a diameter substantially equal to the diameter of the shank of the dental bur being received. Moreover, using this type of receiving hole, positive retention of a dental bur may be achieved when the dental bur storage device is handled roughly or inverted.
Abstract:
A transmission system for a hybrid vehicle is disclosed. The system includes a primary input shaft for receiving drive from a primary vehicle drive motor, such as an internal combustion engine. A secondary input shaft receives drive from a secondary vehicle drive motor, such as an electric motor. An output shaft of the system is connected to drive a final drive unit. A multi-speed gearbox is provided to connect the primary input shaft to the output shaft at one of a plurality of gear ratios. There is provided an input selection mechanism which, in a first configuration, connects the secondary input shaft to drive the output shaft and, in a second mode, connects the secondary input shaft to drive the primary input shaft. A clutch may be provided that can selectively connect or disconnect drive between the primary drive motor and the gearbox.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a dental mount for receiving and retaining a plurality of different dental ceramic blocks used in dental restoration treatments, wherein the dental mount comprises a substantially flat front face having a plurality of dental ceramic block receiving holes located thereon; each of the dental ceramic block receiving holes being dimensioned to form a retaining fit with any one of the different dental ceramic blocks. The advantage of providing a dental mount with dedicated holes for retaining any one of the dental ceramic blocks is that the dental mount can be used to comparatively present all the different types of dental ceramic blocks next to one another in an organized and graded manner so that a dentist may make quick and accurate comparisons between the different types of dental ceramic blocks. Furthermore, the dentist can quickly assess their stock levels by glancing at the dental mount. A further advantage is that the dental ceramic blocks are securely held apart from one another on the dental mount and therefore cannot damage one another when they are moved or transported.
Abstract:
A constant velocity (CV) joint assembly comprising a CV joint and an input member is disclosed. The CV joint that has a cage and a gear between which rotational drive can be transmitted. The input member is connected to the cage of the CV joint for transmission of rotational drive about an axis from an external component to the CV joint. The rotational drive is transmitted between the cage and the input member through interacting drive faces that are disposed in a plane that is generally parallel to the axis. The cage and the input member are retained in interconnection by fastening means that are not responsible for transmission of rotational drive between the cage and the input member. By separating the task of transmission of torque and retention of the connection between the cage and the input member, the fastening means required to perform the latter task can be comparatively light. An increase in torque capacity of the CV joint assembly does not lead to a corresponding increase in the strength requirement of such fastening means. The orientation of the drive faces ensures that there is minimal axial force between the cage and the input member.
Abstract:
The invention provides seed treatment compositions as well as their use, methods for treating seeds, methods of protecting plants against pests and also treated seeds and plants. In one embodiment there is provided a method of treating a seed with a seed treatment composition to induce a plant resistance mechanism against one or more pests in a plant grown from said seed.

Abstract:
A method of assigning the UNIX computers in a network to one of a plurality of groups called zones, of creating independent sets of UNIX identity information for each network entity (user or group) for separate zones, and of associating an entity's sets of UNIX entity information with a single global entity record for the entity in the network's identity resolver. A further method of allowing a UNIX computer to request entity information from the identity resolver, and of the identity resolver returning resolved entity information appropriate for the requesting computer's zone. A further method of managing sets of zone-specific UNIX identity information in the identity resolver to ensure that entity names and entity identification numbers are not duplicated within a zone and to all the same names and numbers to be duplicated across zones. Other embodiments are also described.
