Abstract:
Securing device rejoining for a mesh network of a wireless lighting control system is disclosed. A potential security weakness of a mesh network protocol is that a proprietary link key may be discovered by close, expert examination of a device, potentially facilitating the joining of a “rogue” device to the network. Requiring subsequent rejoins of any device that had previously joined the network to use a current randomly generated link key, rather than the proprietary link key, prevents rogue devices only having the proprietary link key from joining.
Abstract:
A recessed light fixture and methods for manufacturing the same are disclosed. Embodiments include a support base and an adjusting bracket pivotally connected to the support base, the support base capable of pivoting between a first pivot position and a second pivot position to facilitate a user moving the adjusting bracket. When a lighting source is connected to the adjusting bracket, a user is able to move the lighting source and bracket aside to facilitate the user accessing the region behind the lighting source and bracket, which can include a power supply box and door. In at least one embodiment, a single-blade bracket extends perpendicularly from the support base while in the first pivot position and does not extend perpendicularly from the support base while in the second pivot position.
Abstract:
A modular light fixture includes an elongate light fixture base having a longitudinal axis and a plurality of light fixture modules. Each light fixture module includes a housing having an open face, and a light emitting device positioned inside the housing. The modular light fixture also includes a light emitting device driver configured for driving the light emitting devices. The light fixture modules are independently mounted to the light fixture base and extend perpendicularly from opposing sides of the light fixture base with the open faces facing a common direction to produce an initial light distribution pattern. Each light fixture module has a housing adjustment feature for independently pivoting the light fixture module about a pivot axis parallel to the longitudinal axis to modify the initial light distribution pattern. The modular light fixture includes a planar configuration in which the light fixture module housings are oriented along a common plane.
Abstract:
A light fixture includes a housing enclosing a light source. The housing defines an opening therethrough. A plug, which is receivable within the opening, includes a face having a central knockout portion. A perimeter of the knockout portion defines an opening size smaller than an opening size of the opening. According to alternative configurations, the plug may be removed from the opening or only the knockout portion may be removed from the plug while leaving a remainder of the plug in the opening. As such, different sized openings through the light fixture housing may be provided for installation of various light fixture accessories.
Abstract:
A wall washer lighting system includes a light emitter mounted relative to a first surface that is about perpendicular to a second surface. The wall washer lighting system is configured to direct light from the light emitter toward the second surface. The wall washer lighting system includes an optical lens shaped to redirect light from the light emitter about uniformly along a horizontal axis of the second surface, with the horizontal axis extending to both sides of the light emitter. The wall washer lighting system also includes a reflector shaped to redirect light along a vertical axis of the second surface, the reflector uniformly shaped along its horizontal axis.
Abstract:
An illustrative light fixture providing a desired spot light pattern diameter at a given distance includes a planar light emitter providing a light source and forming a first plane, and concentric conical frustum reflectors, the first reflector having a proximate end coplanar with the first plane and the second reflector having a proximate end distal of the first plane.
