Abstract: An audio system includes an audio client device and an access point. The audio client device includes a buffer, a clock generator, a bus controller, a bus receiver, and a control module. The buffer is configured to receive a stream of samples of audio data. The clock generator is configured to generate a first clock signal. The bus controller is configured to read samples from the buffer for transmission across a bus using the first clock signal. The bus receiver is configured to receive samples from the bus controller and output a sampling clock along with each sample. The control module is configured to analyze activity of the buffer and modify operation of the bus controller to synchronize the sampling clock with a remote sampling clock. The access point includes an audio content module, a decoding module, and a network interface that wirelessly transmits the stream of samples.

Abstract: Systems and methods for determining a trend in vertical track modulus are described. Vertical deflection data is collected along a particular section of railroad track. A first set of vertical track modulus is determined, based in part, on the collected vertical deflection data. At a second time, vertical deflection data is again collected along the particular section of railroad track to be used in determining a second set of vertical track modulus. At least the first and second sets of vertical track modulus are analyzed to determine a mathematical algorithm that facilitates developing a trend in the vertical track modulus of the railroad track.

Abstract: A technique for producing microbial cellulose is provided, including: preparing a liquid medium for microbial cultivation in a container; horizontally rotating multiple hollow tubes that are fitted together or separated from one another, so that each of the hollow tubes is alternately partially immersed in the liquid medium and partially exposed above the horizontal surface of the liquid medium; wherein each of the hollow tubes has a rough outer surface and a smooth inner surface, so as to allow microorganisms to form microbial cellulose on the outer surface of each hollow tube, as well as forming sheets of microbial cellulose on the horizontal surface of the liquid medium not being disturbed by the hollow tubes, and removing the microbial cellulose from the outer surfaces of the hollow tubes in order to obtain tubular microbial cellulose. In addition, the sheets of microbial cellulose are also harvested from the liquid medium.
