Abstract:
A system includes a first device, a second device, and a main power management module. The first device is configured to communicate with a system bus. The second device is configured to communicate with the system bus. The second device includes a device power management module configured to manage power states of the second device. The main power management module is configured to manage power consumption of the second device independently of the first device by selectively supplying power and clock signals to the second device based on the power states of the second device. The main power management module and the device power management module each comprise a power handshake interface. The main power management module communicates with the device power management module via a power management bus using the power handshake interface.
Abstract:
A pedal power generating device includes a base having two supporting arms upwardly extending therefrom. The base has a gearbox mounted thereon. A pedal assembly is mounted between the two supporting arms. The pedal assembly has a pedal, a supporter extending from the pedal, a connecting rod assembled with the supporter and connected to the gearbox, and a twist spring mounted between the pedal and the two supporting arms. A transmitting assembly is mounted in the gearbox. The transmitting assembly includes a driver, a first gear train engaged with the driver, a second gear train engaged with the first gear train, and a steering gear set simultaneously engaging with the first gear train and the second gear train. A generator is mounted adjacent to the gearbox, and the generator has a rotor engaged with the second gear train.
Abstract:
A technique for producing microbial cellulose is provided, including: preparing a liquid medium for microbial cultivation in a container; horizontally rotating multiple hollow tubes that are fitted together or separated from one another, so that each of the hollow tubes is alternately partially immersed in the liquid medium and partially exposed above the horizontal surface of the liquid medium; wherein each of the hollow tubes has a rough outer surface and a smooth inner surface, so as to allow microorganisms to form microbial cellulose on the outer surface of each hollow tube, as well as forming sheets of microbial cellulose on the horizontal surface of the liquid medium not being disturbed by the hollow tubes, and removing the microbial cellulose from the outer surfaces of the hollow tubes in order to obtain tubular microbial cellulose. In addition, the sheets of microbial cellulose are also harvested from the liquid medium.
Abstract:
A system and method enabling the search for a three-dimensional virtual world object across the universe of virtual worlds by utilizing a two-step search process to first identify the object and second, to actively locate and generate a URI to all presently manifest instances of that object.
Abstract:
The present invention describes a method and system for governing a physical device or application service in a real world through a virtual device in a virtual world. The physical device or application service registers at least one virtual adaptor of the physical device or application service to a virtual device broker. A user creates or composes the virtual device with the at least one virtual adaptor in the virtual device broker. The user commands to the virtual device through a user interface of the virtual device. The at least one virtual adaptor in the virtual device translates the command to a controlling signal to the physical device or application service. The controlling signal operates the physical device or application service according to the command to the virtual device.
Abstract:
A method for controlling display of a web page on the client, the contents in said web page being assigned different priorities, includes sending an access request for the web page from the client to the server; in response to said access request, the server sending controllers for implementing prioritization of said contents in the web page to the client, and the controllers retrieving the web page contents the server according to the priority order thereof for display. With the system and method, it is possible to prioritize different contents in a web page and to ensure contents with higher priority are downloaded and displayed earlier than those with lower priority, and thereby avoiding the disadvantage of multi-thread parallel download in the prior art.
Abstract:
A notebook computer includes a main body, two connecting assemblies, and a display. The main body comprises an upper surface and two first joint members disposed on two corners of the upper surface. Each of the connecting assemblies includes an arm, a connecting shaft, and a stop cover. One end of the arm is rotatably connected to a first joint member. The connecting shaft is perpendicularly is connected to the arm, and adjacent to a distal end of the arm from the first joint member. The stop cover is rotatably disposed on the distal end. The display defines a pair of axle holes at one sidewall. The display is disposed between the two arms of the two connecting assemblies, and each connecting shaft of each arm is rotatably inserted in the axle hole
Abstract:
A video stream encoding apparatus and method therefore is herein described. The video stream encoding apparatus includes a divider for dividing a frame in a video stream into a plurality of processing units, each processing unit including a plurality of macro-blocks; and an encoder for encoding the plurality of macro-blocks in each processing unit in parallel. The same quantization parameters are used for respective macro-blocks in the same processing unit in the quantization of the encoder. By the apparatus and the method of the invention, dependencies between macro-blocks are broken, and the precision of high rate controlling is kept while encoding the respective macro-blocks in parallel.
