    Abstract: An optical modulator includes a substrate, an optical waveguide, a control electrode applying a high frequency signal in order to modulate light waves propagating through the optical waveguide, and a relay substrate provided with a relay line to transfer the high frequency signal to the control electrode. The control electrode and the relay line together have a coplanar line structure inclusive of at least electrical connection portions of both the control electrode and the relay line. The control electrode includes an electrical connection portion and a routing portion positioned between the electrical connection portion and an active portion applying an electrical field to the optical waveguide. The routing portion has a coplanar line structure. A distance between ground electrodes sandwiching a signal electrode in the electrical connection portion of the control electrode is substantially equal to a distance between ground electrodes sandwiching a signal electrode of the routing portion.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a method of manufacturing a dishwasher including: forming a first layer containing zirconium oxide and silicon oxide on a surface of the inner wall at a heat treatment of 200° C. or higher; forming a second layer containing an oxoacid on a surface of the first layer at a heat treatment temperature lower than the heat treatment temperature of the first layer; and obtaining a thin-film layer containing zirconium oxide and silicon oxide on the surface of the inner wall and having a contact angle of water of 20° or less on the surface, after removing the second layer by using a washing method, in which the first layer contains the zirconium oxide in an amount of 80 mass % or more in terms of oxide and the silicon oxide in an amount of 1-20 mass % in terms of oxide.

    Abstract: An electrode material for a lithium ion secondary battery of the present invention is an electrode material for a lithium ion secondary battery, which comprises a mixture of an oxide-based electrode active material and a granulated body generated from primary particles, wherein the primary particles include an olivine-type electrode active material represented by General Formula LixAyDzPO4 and a carbonaceous film that coats a surface of the olivine-type electrode active material, and wherein an average particle diameter of the primary particles is 30 nm or more and 500 nm or less, an average particle diameter of the granulated body is 0.5 μm or more and 60 μm or less, a tensile strength α of the granulated body is 4 MPa or more, and a brittleness of the granulated body that is defined as a ratio (α/b) of the tensile strength α of the granulated body to a compression constant b of the granulated body is 0.2 or more.

An optical waveguide element includes: a substrate that has an electro-optic effect; an optical waveguide that is formed on the substrate; a control electrode that is for modulating light waves propagating through the optical waveguide; and a reinforcing substrate that holds the substrate via an adhesion layer, and the reinforcing substrate has a low-dielectric constant portion with a lower dielectric constant than that of the reinforcing substrate at least in a part of a region in a plan view of the reinforcing substrate such that the low-dielectric constant portion partitions the reinforcing substrate in a thickness direction.

    Abstract: A cathode material for a lithium ion secondary battery enabling diffusion of lithium ions in a two-dimensional direction or a three-dimensional direction in crystals. The cathode material for the lithium ion secondary battery is formed by coating a surface of a central particle represented by General Formula LixFe1-y-zAyMzPO4 with a carbonaceous film, in which a content of a carbon atom is 0.3% by mass or more and 3.4% by mass or less, and, in a Moessbauer spectrum obtained by Moessbauer spectroscopy, when an area intensity of a spectrum having an isomer shift value in a range of 1.0 mm/sec or more and 1.4 mm/sec or less is represented by α, and an area intensity of a spectrum having an isomer shift value in a range of 0.3 mm/sec or more and 0.7 mm/sec or less is represented by β, {β/(β+α)×(1-y-z)} is 0.01 or more and 0.1 or less.
