A taken-image display unit displays a taken image on a display. By use of face identification data held in a registered user information holding section, a face authentication unit detects a face image of a registered user existing in a taken image. A face frame processing unit displays a face frame on the display for the detected registered user. If, when the face frame is being displayed, the face authentication unit detects by use of the face identification data held in the user information holding section that the face image of the registered user is included in the face frame, a login processing unit lets this user log in.

A broadcast program processing device includes video content recording unit. The video content recording unit causes a storage unit to store a plurality of pieces of video content each of which includes at least one advertisement video. The broadcast program processing device changes the advertisement video included in a piece of video content stored in the storage unit to a substitute advertisement video before being instructed to play any one of the pieces of video content and plays the piece of video content whose advertisement video has been changed if instructed to play any one of the pieces of video content.

A system and method of simulating weight of a virtual object in a virtual environment includes receiving a weight adjusting profile in a handheld peripheral device. The weight adjusting profile corresponding to at least one weight characteristic and/or a movement characteristics of the virtual object presented in the virtual environment where the handheld peripheral device represents the virtual object. The handheld peripheral device includes a movable weight. The weight adjusting profile is stored in the handheld peripheral device and a position of the movable weight in the handheld peripheral device is adjusted to correspond to a movement of the virtual object in the virtual environment.

An input information obtaining portion of a control section obtains requests input from an input device by a user, which requests include a display region moving request to enlarge/reduce or scroll an image displayed on a display device and a request to generate/erase a viewport, change the size of a viewport, or move a viewport. A viewport control portion successively determines the number, arrangement, and size of viewports accordingly. A display region determining portion determines the region of an image to be displayed next in each viewport. A loading portion determines tile images to be newly loaded, and loads the data of the tile images from a hard disk drive. A decoding portion decodes the data of tile images used for rendering the image in each viewport. A display image processing portion updates the display region independently for each viewport.

First, the data of a moving image that is captured is read for each frame, and whether to start tracking is determined based on the presence or absence of a target object (S20, S22). An edge image of the image frame is created after it is determined to start tracking (S24). Meanwhile, a particle is distributed in a space of a coefficient set for each control point sequence when the control point sequence of a B-spline curve representing the shape of the target object is represented in a linear combination of control point sequence of a B-spline curve representing a plurality of reference shapes that are made available in advance (S26). A particle is also distributed in the space of a shape-space vector (S28), the likelihood of each particle is observed, and the probability density distribution is acquired (S30). A curve obtained by weighting parameters by the probability density distribution and then averaging the weighted parameters is created as a tracking result (S32).

Aspects of the present disclosure describe systems and methods for compressing a set of RAM data that may have some portions duplicated in a set of ROM data. The ROM data may be divided into a plurality of data chunks and hashed to obtained unique key values. Then a second hash may be performed on the RAM to see if there are any RAM data chunks that match the ROM data chunks. RAM data chunks with matching key values are replaced with pointers to the location of the data in the ROM. It is emphasized that this abstract is provided to comply with the rules requiring an abstract that will allow a searcher or other reader to quickly ascertain the subject matter of the technical disclosure. The face identification data registration section determines whether or not to update the face identification data on the basis of the face image by evaluating the data.
