Abstract:
The counter is provided with a plurality of digit wheels, the first order digit wheel thereof having a star wheel on one side, a plurality of pinions for effecting carries of the digit wheels, a pair of pawls driven by a driving member for alternately engaging the pawls with the star wheel, an electromagnetic driving device for driving the star wheel through the driving member, and a control member including cam members for preventing the tilting of the driving member when an external shock or vibration is applied to the counter tending to swing the driving member thus causing the misoperation of the star wheel.
Abstract:
An exterior window unit for covering an opening in a building wall includes a frame sill which is slidable coupled with an elongated attachment plate member to be secured to a top surface of the fixed sill of a normally present window assembly in the building wall. To effect such coupling, the frame sill has a mounting fin having engaging means with a groove formed longitudinally therethrough. The attachment plate member has an engaging member which is complementary in cross-section to and received in the groove in the engaging means. The attachment plate member is thus positionable longitudinally relative to the mounting fin so as to be able to be interposed snugly between the side jambs of the normally present window assembly.
Abstract:
A magnetic head-positioning servo system is provided to accurately test a magnetic disk with a track written in advance, by providing two fine actuators. The second fine actuator, to which a magnetic head is attached, is mounted on the first fine actuator. The second fine actuator has a larger generating displacement than a generating displacement of the first fine actuator, and lets the magnetic disk to follow the eccentricity of the track. In this way, the positioning accuracy can be increased.
Abstract:
Drive waveforms with which extension and contraction characteristics of an actuator corresponding to a number of track eccentricity amounts are stored as data. By reading servo information written in a disk is obtained as a signal indicating a head displacement amount from a track. The head is moved in a direction in which the track is displaced by obtaining an amplitude corresponding to a slip amount of the head position and a rotation angle of maximum eccentricity, reading drive waveforms which is optimal in driving the actuator from the memory and driving the actuator with a drive waveform matched with the rotation angle at which the eccentricity is maximum.
Abstract:
A mark information is recorded in an area which is on a circumference of a magnetic disk corresponding to a last track in which a servo information write is ended or a track, which is one or two in front of the last track in which servo information is not written and the mark information is detected by returning a magnetic head in a radial direction of the magnetic disk by a fine movement stage after the magnetic head is moved to a next aimed track by a coarse movement stage. The servo information write position is detected by the magnetic head and the servo information is written in a servo information write position of a next track by positioning the magnetic head therein by using the fine movement stage.
Abstract:
Vehicle position information providing devices, methods, and programs acquire a first current position of a vehicle based on a radio signal received from a GPS satellite and acquire a second current position of the vehicle based on a signal received by a communication device that communicates over a mobile phone network. The devices, methods, and programs determine whether the first current position and the second current position coincide. If the first current position and the second current position do not coincide, the devices, methods, and programs cause the communication device to transmit information relating to the first current position to an information center.
Abstract:
In an image output device a test chart 18 including tests charts 6 of each color is used, and a tone correction table is calculated. The test charts 6 are patterned in a checkered pattern, each including continuous areas 10 in which the tones increase in steps and reference areas 11 for comparison with the continuous areas 10. The reference areas 11 are formed of white ground of paper in a highlight proof part 7, a solid pattern with a maximum density in a shadow proof part 8, and halftone dot-concentrated or line screens with a lower resolution than in the continuous areas in a middle proof part 9. Tone correction values are calculated from characteristic values of the highlight, shadow and middle parts, obtained from visual data of the test chart 18.
Abstract:
A heat plate for fixation comprising: a metallic base plate; and a heating resistor arranged on a reverse face of the metallic base plate, the heating resistor being formed by laminating, at least, an electric insulating layer and heating resistor layer in this order on the metallic base plate, wherein the heat plate is capable of raising the temperature of the metallic base plate to a fixing temperature when the heating resistor layer is energized and heated. A semicircular heating member for fixation comprises the heat plate which is curved so that the metallic base plate has a convex surface, a belt type fixing device is provided with the semicircular heating member, and an electrophotographic image forming apparatus is provided with the belt type fixing device comprising the semicircular heating member.
Abstract:
In a semi-solid alloy including a large amount of a liquid phase portion, that is, semi-solid alloy with less than 50% of solid phase rate, there is a tendency for a solid phase portion to concentrate into the central portion in the direction of thickness, that is the internal portion. In order to enhance corrosion resistance at a portion where high corrosion resistance is particularly required in parts molded by semi-solid injection, the above tendency is utilized. By utilizing the tendency, a layer consisting of a liquid phase portion is partially formed at the semi-solid state on a surface portion where high corrosion resistance is required.

An automobile bodyshell frame structure includes a generally elongated first panel member, and a generally elongated second panel member having opposite side edge portions connected to the first panel member to define a hollow between the first and second panel members. A filler is disposed within a portion of a cross-section of the hollow between the first and second panel members. This filler is provided on an inner surface of one of the first and second panel members and has an average compressive strength equal to or greater than 4 Pa and/or a maximum bending strength equal to or greater than 10 MPa.
