    Abstract: The technologies described herein are generally directed toward communicating determined contention levels of resource pools to user equipments enabling the user equipments to select from available resource pools. According to an embodiment, a system can comprise a processor and a memory that can store executable instructions that, when executed by the processor, facilitate performance of operations. The operations can include assigning determined contention levels to respective ones of a group of resource pools. The operations can further include communicating, to a user equipment device, the determined contention levels, enabling the user equipment device to select a resource pool of the group of resource pools based on the determined contention levels.

    Abstract: Various embodiments disclosed herein provide for multi-stage segmentation of downlink control information. Downlink control information can arrive at a user equipment on more than one channel, setting up and configuring data channels for different base stations, or data channels for the same base station but where the data channels are in different frequency domains or time domains. The downlink control information segmentation system disclosed herein can determine when downlink control information for the user equipment is common across a plurality of downlink control channels, and ensure that the downlink control information is sent just one time, to avoid redundant data transmissions and increased overhead.

    Abstract: A closed loop carrier sense multiple access multiuser request to send and clear to send handshaking system is provided to efficiently allocate licensed and unlicensed spectrum for a plurality of mobile devices and across different base stations and mobile network operators. A user equipment device can be connected to a base station device via a first frequency in licensed spectrum, and a second frequency in unlicensed spectrum. The air interface on the first frequency can then be used to coordinate physical and virtual carrier sensing on a second frequency among a plurality of user equipment devices. Moreover, carrier sensing results from a plurality of UEs can be reported a base station device via the first frequency in licensed spectrum. The base station device can then schedule multiple user multiple input, multiple output (MU-MIMO) transmissions to a plurality of UEs on the second frequency in unlicensed spectrum.

    Abstract: The described technology is generally directed towards wireless communications systems in which multiple control channel resource sets (CORESETs) are configured into a CORESET group. The CORESET group may be associated with a usage scenario/quality of service requirement, and used by user equipment to decode downlink control information corresponding to that usage scenario. For example, one CORESET group can be used for URLLC traffic, another for eMBB type traffic and another for mMTC traffic. Different CORESET groups may be used to provide different aggregation level sets, different DMRS pattern configurations, different search spaces, different transmission protocols/schemes, different beam management and recovery procedures, different radio link monitoring and radio link failure procedures, and so on. Different CORESET groups may be associated with different transmission points.

    Abstract: An example method may include a processing system of a channel sounding receiver having a processor receiving from a base station, at a location, a channel sounding waveform via a plurality of carriers, sampling the channel sounding waveform via the plurality of carriers to generate a plurality of per-carrier time domain sample sets, and processing the plurality of per-carrier time domain sample sets via a plurality of discrete Fourier transform modules to provide a plurality of per-carrier frequency domain sample sets. The method may further include the processing system aligning the plurality of per-carrier frequency domain sample sets in gain and phase to provide a combined frequency domain sample set and measuring a channel property at the location based upon the combined frequency domain sample set.

    Abstract: An adaptive downlink control channel structure is utilized for control channel transmission for 5G and other next generation wireless systems. Moreover, the adaptive downlink control channel structure can utilize a reduced length/size to decrease signaling overhead for each transport block. In an aspect, a first downlink control channel structure for a data transmission can be utilized to implicitly indicate redundancy version (RV) and a second downlink control channel structure for a subsequent data transmission can be utilized to explicitly indicate the RV. In another aspect, the RV can be indicative via an adaptive bit load. Further, in yet another aspect, the RV can be indicated based on a joint encoding of RV and new data indicator (NDI) information.
