A flame resistant thermoplastic molding composition is disclosed. The composition contains a mixture of two aromatic polycarbonates having differing solution viscosities, a vinyl(co)polymer made from at least two ethylenically unsaturated monomers, a graft polymer obtainable by graft polymerization of at least two monomers selected from chloroprene, 1,3-butadiene, isoprene, styrene, acrylonitrile, ethylene, propylene, vinyl acetate and (meth)acrylates with 1 to 18 carbon atoms in the alcohol component, a phosphorous compound, a fluorinated polyolefin and an inorganic compound with an average particle size no greater than 200 nm. The inventive composition is additionally characterized in its improved stress cracking resistance.

The present disclosure relates to impact-modified polycarbonate compositions which comprise a graft polymer containing silicone/acrylate composite rubber as the graft base, wherein the content of silicone rubber is 65-95 wt. % (based on the graft base), talc having a d98 value (also called “top cut”) of less than 20 μm and phosphorus-containing flame retardant, the use of the polycarbonate compositions for the production of shaped articles and the shaped articles themselves. The compositions and moulding compositions according to the disclosure have an optimum combination of good flameproofing, good resistance to chemicals and hydrolysis and good mechanical properties (i.e. in particular a high E modulus and high notched impact strength aK).

The composition contains (A) aromatic polycarbonate and/or polyester carbonate (B) at least one graft rubber, obtained by emulsion polymerization of styrene and acrylonitrile in the presence of at least two rubber latices of type (B1) and (B2) where (B1) has a particle diameter d50 of ≦350 nm, a particle size distribution range of 30 nm to 100 nm, and a gel content of 70 wt. %, and (B2) has a particle diameter of ≧350 nm, a particle size distribution range of 50 nm to 500 nm, and a gel content of ≧70 wt. %, and the difference in the average particle diameter of B1 and B2 is ≧50 nm, (C) an optional copolymer of styrene and or acrylonitrile and for methyl methacrylate and/or N-substituted maleinimide, and optionally (D) flame retardant as well as optionally conventional additives.
