摘要: An inkjet recording apparatus in which displacements of dots are reduced. In the inkjet recording apparatus, recording data is read out from a recording buffer at a period corresponding to a second resolution. The apparatus determines whether or not to delay the timing at which the readout is performed by an interval corresponding to one-half of the period corresponding to a first resolution. The apparatus also selects whether to drive an inkjet head in a front half or a last half of the period corresponding to the first resolution.

摘要: An ink-jet printing apparatus, for printing an image based on image information on a printing medium by relatively moving an ink-jet printhead, detects the temperature of the ink-jet printhead by using a head temperature detection unit and outputs it to a driving frequency determination unit. The driving frequency determination unit acquires temperature information in units of pages of image information or predetermined image areas. If the acquired temperature is equal to or higher than a predetermined temperature, the driving frequency of the ink-jet printhead is decreased when a predetermined unit of the image information is printed.

摘要: A head unit detects the temperature of its internal printhead a plurality of number of times, and generates a plurality of digital signals corresponding to respective temperatures. The head unit determines a digital signal used as the temperature of the printhead on the basis of the generated digital signals. The head unit transmits the determined digital signal to a main unit having a main PCB. The main unit receives the digital signal transmitted from the head unit. The main unit executes printing control of the printhead based on the received digital signal.

摘要: According to the invention, a power supply for an image sensing device is obtained from a printer to prevent consumption of the battery. When the image sensing device is connected to the printer, a power management unit checks if electric power can be supplied from the printer. When electric power can be supplied from the printer, the power management unit switches the power supply from the battery to a power supply receiving/supplying unit that receives electric power from the printer. In this case, if the remaining capacity on the battery is small, the battery is charged by electric power from the printer. Also, the luminance of a display unit is increased, or the operation frequency of a control unit is raised. On the other hand, when electric power cannot be supplied from the printer, the power management unit switches the power supply to the battery. In this case, the power management unit reduces consumption power by decreasing the luminance of the display unit or reducing the operation frequency of the control unit.

摘要: An ink jet printer includes a distance adjust mechanism for adjusting in two steps a distance between a liquid nozzle-formed face of a print unit and the recording surface, and a unit having first and second cleaning members with different free end positions, lengths and/or thicknesses are arranged movable relative to the face and adapted to wipe a substance adhering to the face off of the face with a predetermined engagement condition. The substance is wiped off of the face by the first and second cleaning members having different engagement conditions when the face is a first distance from a recording surface, and is wiped off with the engagement condition of a wipe portion of the first cleaning member virtually equal to the engagement condition of a wipe portion of the second cleaning member associated with the first distance when the face is a second distance from the medium. Further, a height difference between the cleaning members is set almost equal to the distance the face is moved by the distance adjust mechanism.

摘要: Multi-valued image data corresponding to a pixel area is divided into the first scanning multi-valued data, first and second scanning common multi-valued data, and second scanning multi-valued data. A quantization processing is executed on each of the multi-valued data to generate first scanning quantized data, first and second scanning common quantized data, and second scanning quantized data. After that, these pieces of quantized data are combined for each scanning to generate first scanning combined quantized data and second scanning combined quantized data. According to this, the amount of pixels where dots are both recorded by performing a scanning by plural times (the amount of overlapping dots) is controlled, and while suppressing the image density variations, the granularity is held to a low level.

摘要: In a printing apparatus improvement of drying ability and reduction of consumed power are concurrently achieved by improving the efficiency of drying ink. More concretely, hot air is blown onto a print medium printed by ink, and a portion of the blown hot air is recovered and blown again. Before the hot air is blown, the print medium is heated by a preheating unit, making it higher than the dew point temperature of the blown hot air.

摘要: Provided is a temperature detection method capable of more accurately acquiring an environmental temperature and more accurately correcting temperature detection of a printhead. In a printing apparatus to which this method is applied, a previous printing time when the printhead has performed a printing operation is stored in a nonvolatile memory. The current time is acquired using a timer which always performs a time counting operation by power supply from an auxiliary power supply capable of supplying power independently of a main power supply that supplies power for performing the printing operation by the printing apparatus. A time elapsed after the previous printing time is calculated on the basis of the current time and previous printing time. The elapsed time and a predetermined time are compared. The temperature is measured using a sensor arranged in at least one of the printing apparatus and the printhead in accordance with the comparison result. A temperature is updated on the basis of the measured temperature.
