Abstract: A display device and a display method thereof are provided. The display device includes: a first base substrate (10) and a second base substrate (20) which are arranged oppositely and a liquid crystal layer (30) between the first base substrate (10) and the second base substrate (20), the display device further includes: a waveguide grating (40) between the liquid crystal layer (30) and the first base substrate (10), the waveguide grating (40) including a waveguide layer (401) and a grating layer (402) on one side of the waveguide layer (401) facing the liquid crystal layer (30), and the grating layer (402) being in contact with the liquid crystal layer (30); and a collimation light source (50) on a lateral surface of the waveguide layer (401), light emitted by the collimation light source (50) being coupled into the waveguide layer (401) and output from the grating layer (402). The display device can regulate an amount of the light output from the waveguide grating by controlling changes of the refractive index of the liquid crystal layer so as to implement gray scale display.

Abstract: There is provided an array substrate including a plurality of pixel regions arranged in rows and columns. Abstract: The present disclosure discloses an anti-peep display device and an anti-peep display device. The anti-peep display device includes a display layer and a liquid crystal grating layer; the liquid crystal grating layer is disposed at a surface of the display layer, and the liquid crystal grating layer includes two layers of glass substrate and a liquid crystal layer; these two layers of glass substrate are spaced apart and oppositely disposed; the liquid crystal layer is sandwiched between the two layers of the glass substrate; by adjusting the liquid crystal layer, a plurality of gratings of the liquid crystal grating layer are controlled to switch between black and white, thereby controlling the anti-peep display device to switch between an anti-peep display mode and a shared display mode.

Abstract: An optical assembly, a display device and a method for driving the same are provided. The optical assembly includes two substrates disposed opposite to each other, and electrodes are disposed on the two substrates respectively. Voltages are applied to the electrodes to form a transverse electric field being configured for driving liquid crystal molecules proximal to the substrates to deflect, so that liquid crystal proximal to the two substrates both form liquid crystal lenses, thereby forming a double-layer liquid crystal lens structure. Since the two substrates of a liquid crystal cell have high alignment accuracy, the electrodes on the two substrates are consistent in spatial distribution, thereby solving mura problem.

Abstract: The present application provides a liquid crystal prism including a first substrate, a second substrate, a liquid crystal layer arranged between the first substrate and the second substrate, a face recognition circuit, a prism form determination circuit and a control circuit. The liquid crystal prism is divided into a plurality of prism units. The face recognition circuit is configured to acquire eye position information from one or more faces, and transmit the eye position information to the prism form determination circuit. The prism form determination circuit is configured to determine a prism form in accordance with a correspondence mapping table about correspondences between eye position information and prism forms, and the eye position information acquired by the face recognition circuit. The control circuit is configured to control voltages applied to the strip-like electrodes of the prism units in accordance with the prism form determined by the prism form determination circuit.

Abstract: The embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a liquid crystal grating, a display device, and methods for controlling thereof. The liquid crystal grating comprises a first substrate; a second substrate disposed opposite to the first substrate; an electrode layer disposed on the first substrate or the second substrate, wherein the electrode layer comprises at least two sets of electrodes arranged periodically, and each set of electrodes of the two sets of electrodes comprises two sub-electrodes arranged parallel to each other; a liquid crystal layer disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate; and a control unit configured to make the liquid crystal grating be operated in a transparent mode or a grating mode; when the liquid crystal grating is operated in the transparent mode, there is no voltage difference between two sub-electrodes of each set of electrodes, and between two adjacent sub-electrodes of different sets; and when the liquid crystal grating is operated in the grating mode, there is a voltage difference between two sub-electrodes of each set of electrodes, and there is no voltage difference between two adjacent sub-electrodes of different sets. The embodiments of the present disclosure can increase the viewing angle of display device, and cancel the zero-order diffraction of light of different wavelengths.
