摘要： A digital copier has a memory for storage of image data, reads image data and stores the image data in the memory, and prints an image depending on the image data stored in the memory. The digital copier can also register a plurality of jobs. Based on a registered job an image is printed. Then, based on the subsequent job an image is printed. When an image data corresponding to a new job cannot be stored in the memory, the digital copier effects the process for calculation of job execution time, a process of calculating a free memory capacity, and a process of calculating the time required for obtaining a timing at which a free memory space is provided, to display the time at which the image data corresponding to the new job can be stored. Thus, a digital copier can be provided allowing the user to form images efficiently.

摘要： A printing system includes a printer, a center side data processor, and a remote user side processor (input terminal) all interconnected via a network. A print request and information related to a printing operation is sent from a user side processor to a reception device at the center side data processor. A printing cost is calculated and transmitted back to the user side processor via the network. Upon determination that payment has been received, the front data is sent to the printer for printing. The period of time of retaining the print data 8 is modified depending upon whether payment has been received.

摘要： Additional data useful for the management of copies of a document for an image forming apparatus is embedded in a hard copy of the document. The additional data is embedded in an inherent image of a document as pixels arranged in a prescribed format, and, preferably, the size of the pixels is such as to not be easily recognized with the naked eye. The image data for embedding the additional data can be obtained by reading a document, or by receiving data sent from a computer or read from a floppy disk. Additional data embedded in a hard copy can be extracted from the image data on the hard copy, and the production of a copy according to the image data can be controlled according to the extracted additional data. For example, if the additional data means that the source of the hard copy is a secret document, copying thereof is allowed only for a legitimate user. Additional data generated for each copy is compiled and is used to manage copies of various sources systematically.

摘要： An image forming device is provided with a memory area assignment system for assigning a font load area for storing font data and a bit map area for storing image data in the memory area with a predetermined capacity, and when a part of the memory area defined to be assigned for the bit map area is overlapped on a part of the font load area, it is judged whether or not the font data stored in the overlapped area is a secondary data which can be recovered by converting a primary data, and in case the font data is a secondary data, the overlapped area is assigned for the bit map area.

摘要： A copying machine having the capability of reproducing an image at different magnifications from either a stored or calculated magnification ratio is provided. The size of the original and the size of the various copying papers available are calculated to determine an optimum magnification ratio. A preset value of optical magnification ratios can be provided within the copying machine. A controller can determine whether the calculated magnification ratio can be utilized within the preset predetermined range of values and the corresponding control of the copier machine can be effected in accordance with that decision.

摘要： There is disclosed an image density control apparatus for copying machines in which an area of a pattern image that is formed by projecting a reference pattern through an optical system is limited to a constant area irrespective of the copy magnification. Then the pattern image is developed and its toner density is detected to serve for controlling the image density. Accordingly, the image density is controlled with accuracy, irrespective of the copy magnification.
